Over 40,000 teachers ‘face sack’ over gay marriage

More than 40,000 teachers say they will probably refuse to teach about “the importance of” same-sex marriage, according to a new poll.

And 56 per cent of teachers believe any colleague who takes such a stance risks damaging their career.

The survey has led to concerns that tens of thousands of teachers may face being sacked or disciplined over their views, because of how legislation is worded.

I look forward to the 2nd coming of Christ even if it means I have to go through tribulation because when Christ returns He will be glorified among men and He will rule and reign on this earth. Justice will finally be done and Christ's brothers/sisters will be transformed and will never sin against their Savior again. I never think how I should prepare for the tribulation, but that is probably a shortcoming on my part. I certainly don't object if some think they should prepare for the hardships they will encounter; I just don't think that way at least at the present time.

I do believe that the majority of believers will be martyred during this period of time; especially those that continue to be salt and light. Unless the Lord intervenes; that will be the lot of those who witness and warn others about what is taking place during this period of time. Even our families will turn against us, so it will be very difficult.

Sorry the above wasn't written better, but space is lacking and I want to answer before I go to bed.

I think Christ's true church is very unique to the rest of the world; that is why they mock us, hate us, and in many parts of the world kill us.

It is nice hearing from you again sister.

Frank,

I am curious you're thoughts on the idea of Christians having to walk through tribulation, and both looking forward to the second coming of Christ (and eternal life) while at the same time being fully involved in the affairs of this life, being salt, a life poured out, a sanctified saint, even a martyr.

Would it be important for us to prepare the younger generation (even ourselves) to remain faithful to Christ, to encourage them not to fall away as Christ encourages us in Matthew 24?

Do you think that we are effectively preparing one another for tribulation or still in denial, looking up at the skies, saying "any moment now"....

when that moment may come after our persecution?

Do you think we have any uniqueness to the rest of the world where beheadings are a reality for Christians? Thanks and good day.

You are correct and all I can say is Amen; come quickly Lord Jesus, come quickly.

"More than 40,000 teachers say they will probably refuse to teach about “the importance of” same-sex marriage, according to a new poll."

Not true. "40,000 teachers" did not "say" any such thing.

It is easy for less than 50 people (out of 500) asked in a survey to say they will "probably" take a stand. It is quite another thing for even those 50 to actually take a stand.

Anglican vicars stay close to their pensions. Are teacher enabled with a nobler spirit? Let's hope so.

Hi David

There is still a remnant of God's people in the UK and I feel sure that their cries will be ascending to heaven today for this once blessed nation.

Today the UK should hang its head in shame. The 'Same sex marriage bill' has just started (literally about 90 mins ago) its proceedings through the House of Parliament.

There are quite a lot of MPS's who will oppose this bill, sadly there is a large enough majority for it to be passed - unless God in His mercy (or judgement) intervenes.

Sadly, the public opinion is approx 60/40 in favour of same sex marriage and this is cited a sufficient reason for this law to be enabled.

The government claims there will be a 'quadruple lock' for those churches who will refuse to participate in these 'so-called marriage ceremonies'. However, this is already being challenged under the auspices of the European Human Rights Act. Many of us believe there will be no protection and further persecution will occur. The article re the teachers who may face lose the jobs as a result of opposing same sex marriage is evidence of this.

What can be done?

Genesis 18 v 23-33 gives us an answer. Abraham ceased not in prayer - even if only 10 righteous could be found in the city. Surely that must be a our priority - prayer, prayer and more prayer.

There are many praying in the UK, even as I write this, for God to intervene - please join with us.

I hope that when the time is at hand, those maybes will turn into definatelys. I realize thats easy to say, not being a teacher and all, but if I was, I would fear the wrath of God for comprimising much more than I would fear being fired for putting my foot down and saying, "no!"
