The Vatican praised President Barack Obama’s proposals for curbing gun violence, saying they are a “step in the right direction.”

The Vatican’s chief spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi, said Saturday that 47 religious leaders have appealed to members of the U.S. Congress “to limit firearms that are making society pay an unacceptable price in terms of massacres and senseless deaths.”

“I am with them,” Lombardi said, in an editorial carried on Vatican Radio, lining up the Vatican’s moral support in favor of firearm limits. ...

Jim- there has never been an awakening of communism without a group of people who think they are of a higher intellectual class and are specially designed to clamp down on the rest of their fellow citizens to run their lives. After society falls, they usually end up delusioned.

But love of Christ and neighbor leads to the building of the Kingdom of God.

I do propose a new Constitutional amendment, though, guns can only be owned by people with a 140 IQ or higher. Now that wouldn't stop the shooting in Conn. but it would stop a lot of knuckleheads like the following. 5 injured after firearms go off at Ohio, N.C., Indiana gun shows - CNN.com. Can smart people have gun accidents! of course they can! Remember that really bright ;-7 VP Dick Chaney accidentally shooting his hunting partner? Since there are a lot fewer bright people than knuckleheads (Where the NRA with their training programs when there actually needed? ) and the smart people probably have a slight edge over not doing stupid things when compared to knuckleheads. In any event Republicans it's time again for you to ignore
Jim, your indulgence in nonsense is taking over your mind. The only goose-steppers in this country are the easily led Obama supporters. You should give up stuffing your brain with Huffington Post-Americanisms.

PS Did you notice it was Obama's proposals getting Vatican support? Or did you just read it "independent" of what it said?
