“Like all the other nations …” – i.e., we’re no longer exceptional, let us be like all the other nations. Sound familiar?
Old Samuel knew this desire was wrong and would lead the people even farther from God, into servitude, injustice and moral darkness. So he went to the Lord for guidance. But what did He say? “Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied, “for it is Me they are rejecting, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.”
From then on, for hundreds of years, the people suffered under foolish kings, many worse than the one before, still wanting their own way and forsaking the way of God who had made them great in their beginning. They ended in abject slavery, in Babylon captivity.
Don’t think that can happen to our America? Friend, our people have rejected the very same God and His way, and clamored after a king who has promised to provide, protect and lead them...
No worries Miss Angela...I don't know you and should not have read and taken you to task in the manner in which I did. I'm sure that IRL you are a lovely Christian woman.
Hi Jess, Have we met? I live about 30 miles east of St. Louis and was a regular witness at planned barrenhood for many years. I hope you don't mind that I clicked on the icon next to your name and saw your previous comments, including the one you left on Pastor Swanson's Generations Radio broadcast the day after the elections. I didn't see you chastising Pastor Swanson for his demeanor or stand which I agree with... I hope you aren't offended at me because I am a woman who speaks out on these issues. I've had more stones cast my way than I dare remember due to taking a stand for Christ and some have been from Church going men, as well as liberals. I am not going to apologize for anything I've said because it lines up with Scripture. My advice is for you to examine your heart and see if your harsh attitude toward me is because I am a woman.
we have listened to false prophets. this is how we've gotten here. plain and simple.
we wanted our ears tickled.
we wanted our modern idols (they aren't made of wood so they don't seem so bad).
we wanted to believe america is special (and our spiritual leaders never showed footage of our technology being used and the diaspora of Christians in foreign adventures, we just thought in our great arrogance, "they want us there")
we wanted to believe B was a Christian, it made us feel good.
we will not face what has happened to our nation. in the last 10+ years we have traded the american traditions for a new system. this was done by both parties.
until evangelicals see the whole picture they are going to be confused.
we've been caught by the very net our leaders made with our help.
Jess, I know that the frustration that I run into is this. by not voting for romney I get blamed for obama. huh? I didn't vote for either. when we were trying to vote for godly men on the primaries most sat around wattching sports or reality ttv shows. then blame us for not showing up for the vote.
if you have an employee that lies yo you whenever it seems benificial, do you fire him or promote him? because conservative christians stay home in the primaries weget liberal progressives for canidates and then get deamonized for not voting for them.
Well, upon further thought, I may have went over the top a Tad. I meant all that I said, but I could have lightened the load a bit. Considering her demeanor, I didn't think she would give a moments thought. To loving, constructive criticism.
Either way, I just became tired of the holier than everyone presence. Who knows...maybe it's just me.
Miss Angela, I'll get right to the point: Who in this world do you think you are commanding those who didn't vote your way to repent...inferring that they will face Almighty God's fury if they don't heed. Are you a prophetess, Miss Angela...do you have a direct pipeline to our Father? Reading thru your posts makes me feel quite I'll. You steamroll in talking nothing but policics and nowhere have I seen love, humility, or instruction. You shower those who agree with you with diamond encrusted halos and eternal blessings and shovel brimstone upon those who don't. I find you to be a pompous, arrogant, narcissistic sort of Christian lady, bent on dictatorship. Every time you bless all with your presense on this forum, you cause conflict because of your accusative, unloving, my way or I don't like you attitude. If this were not a Christian forum, never would I guess that you were one. Maybe, Miss Angela, you have some repenting to do as well. Your online presence does not give good Christian vibes.

Leaders indeed. Praying for them to do what? Not keep their promises to spend us into prosperity, back Planned Parenthood, promote "gay marriage," make us all healthy with mandatory "affordable" government healthcare? Or did you have something else in mind? Please don't say pray for openly anti-Christ politicians to have wisdom. Pray for us to have it, it's badly needed. Wisdom would have prevented them from re-election.
Socialism with whatever s you want to put on it is fundamentally different from the passage you quoted from Acts. In Acts, the believers gave and supported, not out of compulsion, but rather out of love for each other. What we see happening now is not people freely giving to care for each others needs, it is a forced confiscation by those in power and a slow consolidation of control over the entire economy, which never happened in the early church.
Russ, when was socialism (with a a small "s" ever anti-Christian?)
Acts 2 43 And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all those who had believed were together, and had all things in common; 45 and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.---NASB
There have be Christians groups throughout the centuries, e.g., Hutterites who have been communistic (note there a small "c" not capital "C.")
No argument, Russ, in that Eternal Hell Awaits the Unrepentant, but since the U.S., why would you expect anything different, though very sad for what is happening.
You guys are missing the point altogether. The issue is not Romney or Obama. The issue is that over have of the nation is now radically pro abortion, homo marriage, illicit drug use, and socialism. So for the first time in the history of this nation a majority of people blatantly rejected godliness, they have high handedly told God that they would rather have a king. The only thing left for us now is judgement.
The way I see the election results is as an answer to prayer that we not have a Mormon in the White House to further confuse the citizens of America and add to our problem with pluralism. So, instead of wringing my hands over the results, I am giving thanks. Now I suggest all the complainers do as God tells us to do and begin earnestly praying for our leaders.
So, all the world is under judgment, and the USA could be under severe judgment if it doesn't treat Israel correctly--Is the World's Problem with Israel?
