Barack Obama wins election for second term as president
President Barack Obama handily defeated Gov. Mitt Romney and won himself a second term Tuesday after a bitter and historically expensive race that was primarily fought in just a handful of battleground states. Obama beat Romney after nabbing the crucial state of Ohio.

The Romney campaign's last-ditch attempt to put blue-leaning Midwestern swing states in play failed as Obama's Midwestern firewall sent the president back to the White House for four more years. Obama picked up the swing states of New Hampshire, Michigan, New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Ohio. Florida and Virginia are still too close to call, but even if he won them, they would not give Romney enough Electoral College votes to put him over the top. The popular vote will most likely be much narrower than the president's Electoral College victory.

The Obama victory marks an end to a ...

It's worse than that Angela I'm an "embittered," moderate! I tried to get some of the Reformed type to read, what amounts to, "The Rise and Fall of the Puritans," i.e., Instead of building a city on a hill, they dug a hole in the ground. Yes, they have conveniently forgiven the likes of Ralph Reed, Full Show: The Resurrection of Ralph Reed.

A Theonomy is utter foolishness. They are in effect Republican Moralists

Webster's 1913 Dictionary wrote:
Moralist: ...
2. One who practices moral duties; a person who lives in conformity with moral rules; one of correct deportment and dealings with his fellow-creatures; -- sometimes used in contradistinction to one whose life is controlled by religious motives.
The love (in the moralist of virtue, but in the Christian) of God himself. Hammond

I was hoping to read these comments and find some repentance among the Romney/Republican supporters, but instead I read the same old argument that Jim Lincoln is a bitter liberal because he doesn't support the Republicans... Excuse me, but if you continue to put your faith and hope in the Republican Party, we'll continue to live in tyranny... Why not repent and work to build a truly Christian political party? Frankly, I am tired of wandering in the wilderness because evangelical Christians have put their faith in the likes of Karl Rove and those of his ilk.

Evangelical Christians love America. Some see in her the last hope of creating a Christian nation. But it is not a Christian nation. It is pagan to the core. It is in danger of becoming, if it is not already, the new “Evil Empire.” The Mayflower Compact is a museum piece, a relic of a forgotten era. “In God We Trust” is now a lie.
Yes, we must always work for social reform. Yes, we must be “profane’ in Martin Luther’s sense of going out of the temple and into the world. We do not despise the country of our birth. But in what do we invest our hope? The state is not God. The nation is not the Promised Land. The president is not our King. The Congress is not our Savior. Our welfare can never be found in the city of man. The federal government is not sovereign. We live—in every age and in every generation—by the rivers of Babylon. We need to understand that clearly. We must learn how to sing the Lord’s song in a strange and foreign land.
America will fall. The United States will inevitably disintegrate. The Stars and Stripes will bleed. The White House will turn to rubble. That is certain. We stand like Augustine before the sea.

I still don't get it because we were not voting for a spiritual leader. Rather, "praise God" that millions of children will continue to be murdered, and "praise God" that we can continue on our journey towards Sodom and Gomorrah, among other things?
Does a Presidential candidate need to be a born again Christian in order for other Christians to vote? If not, and everyone cast their vote in previous years, what's the difference this time around?
Just trying to understand because I'm clearly missing something.
You will only "get" Jim when you realize how bitter he is. Lurker is right. Jim is quite happy supporting theft, corrupt government, and abomination as defined by God. That way he can continue making himself feel better by blaming Repubs for the financial collapse which began with Democrat insistence that banks make bad loans to people who were not able or willing to pay them.

Jim has been out for revenge on Republicans in high office every since his retirement nest egg was fleeced during their watch..... the stock market crash of 2008. In his quest he conveniently overlooks the unGodly Democratic baggage of expanding government, deficit spending, abortion and gay rights.... to name just a few.

You can make up your own mind how this will work out for Jim on the last day when we all must answer to the One who knows the intents of our heart.

"Since the beginning of the Second World War, western society has experienced a complete abandonment of its mores, a complete abandonment of its sense of good and evil. The true crisis of our time has nothing to do with monetary troubles, unemployment or nuclear weapons. The true crisis has to do with the fact that western man has lost his way."

Jim your objections to Republican speak louder than common sense. Traditional America is finished the new face on America has been sounded by this vote. Stats state that the Latino population grows at the pace of 50,000 a month and that socialist growing face is the ruler of American politics and economics. Forget about capitalism and receive "Big Government" interference in everything by bureaucracy. Look at some of the tyranny's of third world countries to see the future of America.
Your anti-Republicanism is at home with the new America and Democrat policy with abortions and the acceptable face of Sodom and Gomorrah. Its not only morals which the Democrats bring down but good authority and government from the position of strong national leadership. Now America will go the way of Europe and the UK, and that is a very bad place. Your country is in decline Jim and apparently you cannot see it. Soon it will be run on entirely different lines - less leadership and much indifference from the top down. From the bottom up it will be hand outs all round.

Martin, I concur with your post IN ENTIRETY.

Everything a Christian owns belong to God. But do you also know that "You are not your own; you were bought at a price"? A Christian exercising good stewardship can ONLY vote for a Christian candidate. For "what agreement hath the temple of God" with politicians who are in rebellion with God?

Should we not accept lesser of the evils as long as the tide of homosexuality and abortion are stemmed? Are we not wasting our vote?

God is sovereign and ALWAYS in charge. Nowhere has He asked us to manipulate evil and help Him out. "Let us do evil, that good may come?" God has called us to obedience and faith, leaving Him the consequences. lacking faith in Gods Sovereignty and ability is a sin.

As Christians, we are exorted that "giving of thanks, be made for ALL men; .. For kings, and for all that are in authority". And we fight by standing firm in our Christian testimony and being prepared to suffer. And as it should, Christ Church is confronting all evil with the "gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation"

The GOSPEL of Christ that is the power, not u

Please pray for Pres Obama. Here are three things I think all Christian's know any president needs.1. Wisdom from God to lead this nations according to God's will. 2. To pray his conversion to a true Bible believing Christian. 3. For the health of him and his family. If we do this we will be living out our faith

First let me say that I did in fact vote after much dilemma; I voted for Romney. I simply thought that neither candidate could possibly confuse the true church of Christ, like Palin would have, and if Romney was elected perhaps one baby’s life might be spared. I would like to pick up on the excellent thoughts of Martin from TX. The only sins that I am aware of that can be forced upon a believer is a “forced” abortion or when we render taxes to Caesar and they are used for immoral things. Christ was my Lord before the election and He is my Lord now; absolutely nothing changed. Whoever won is irrelevant to my Christian walk, although it may in fact just become more difficult. Scripture teaches that we are to consider ourselves to be Strangers and Aliens in whatever society we live in; America is no exception although the various conservative movements would have us think so. Anyway, to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who will in fact be tested now more than ever, just remember God works all things according to His good will and purposes and Obama is like a flea on an elephants back compared to the creator.
