Obama, Romney: What they believe

Earlier last month, Christ Covenant senior pastor Mike Ross wrote a letter to his congregation about an unprecedented dynamic: “More than any time in my 30 years of pastoral ministry, people are talking to me about whom to vote for,” he wrote.

In a phone interview from his office in Matthews, N.C., Ross said one concern prevails for many in his predominantly conservative congregation of 2,500 members: “They’re really not happy that Mr. Romney is a Mormon.”

Religion hasn’t always been a prominent topic in presidential elections. Indeed, a handful of past presidents have embraced religious movements outside the pale of orthodox Christianity: Presidents John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore, and William Howard Taft were Unitarians. Presidents Herbert Hoover and Richard Nixon were Quakers. ...

It is quite clear that neither are there to represent the nation or the younger generation. And it is quite clear that the church isn't either. One side wants 57 states and the other 51. They will fight so hard for it, they will forget that all along, God had given them the next generation to bring up. All eyes so far off, we see the forest, but we can't see the trees.

What pretense? The president of a constitutional republic does not make, (nor unmake) a nation Christian. Nor is it required of him. Elect a Christian, you still would not have a Christian nation. Get real, there are believers within pagan nations as well as pagans. When it is required that the president be Archbishop of Washington, then we should concern over whether his faith is the right one. I see no biblical precedent for him to be a Christian, nor is it a hindrance to God if he is not.

I guess what I meant when I said that I would vote for the better liar is that while assuming that they are telling the incessant lies that we are subjected to with every campaign, I still hold out hope that "this one" will be different and mean what he says and following through.

what they believe is important,

what they do shows what they believe.

Question 1: Will the lives of children in other nations be respected or used for fodder? (remember Rokke and the urnanium?)

Epidemic of Birth Defects in Iraqi Cities

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3464374/

Question 2: Will the lives of the children in the US be of any concern?

the depopulation of society, as Bill Gates has said is his most important work through vacs and reproductive services

and the depopulation effects of GMO's -- through shortened life and infertility..

Are these concerns to either??

I know there are those who will represent Wall Street, factionous groups, abortion and other forms of violence, the largest coorporations and other nation-states.

But will either represent their own constituents?

Why should they? the church won't either. Looks like the american church has plenty of choices in her current
conditon.

Is there anyone left to represent the younger generation of America?

What kind of nation throws their own under the bus?

Not a long-lived one.

Interesting.

I don't want presidents to lie to me either but I do want a president who is good at "lying" if the context is to throw off our true enemies (Al Quaida, etc.)

Pretty much everything you say resonates with me though.

Well said Marty.

Another good analogy in describing your choice this November is "Coke or Pepsi?"

How come the Mormon "White Horse Prophecy" isn't mentioned much. I feel like if Romney is elected then the cult of Mormonism will become legitimized in most people's minds. This article alludes to this as well. Isn't that the goal of every cult? The Catholic Church has been pretty successful at this. Most people think Catholics are "Christians".

Voting for the establishment is wasting your vote. Both of these guys are hand picked to become the CEO of America, Inc. It doesn't matter which one wins.

I'm not talking about normal ambition... Please research the White Horse Prophecy of Joseph Smith for insight into Romney's religious teachings and well, we all know Barack has a messianic complex.

Anyone who runs for president thinks he can save America. That's why they run. Third party candidates are no different. Human nature is what it is.

#1: All tangible proof suggests that he is not against abortion or same sex marriage (see his term in office as governor).
#2: The idea that voting for a third option is the same as throwing a vote away is a short-sighted opinion. In helping to stop the reelection of Obama, it is throwing a vote away, but in helping to change the course of the US, twenty or thirty years down the line, it isn't... As it was five hundred years ago, men like Huss or Whitcliffe were a very serious minority, but when 1517 came around, the world was ready to throw off the chains of false doctrine. In case you haven't noticed, the Republicans have done little else than follow behind the Democrats, like shadows on a body. If the Democrats are Bud, the Republicans are Bud Light. If you drink only beer, you'll only get more intoxicated, light or not.
It is totally superfluous that as governor Romney was for abortion and homosexuality. It is his present stance on those subject matters that matters. And at present Romney is against abortion totally and against homosexuality. Voting for a third party presidential candidat will not change the course of the US 20 or 30 years down the line because Obama will be re elected and put Pro Abortion/homosexual judges.

Is it ok to mention that I hate politics? Voting for a candidate is so difficult because other than party bias, I find myself voting for whoever is a better liar. That's all they are and all they do and the voter fall for the same old promises every four years. I get a kick out of the candidates when they present their laundry lists of everything they will do or not do if elected or reelected. One man can't singlehandedly do anything other than present his ideas since the presidency isn't a dictatorship.

I'm a dummy and fairly simple when it comes to the political machine but these are my thoughts. I'm sure one of the politics gurus will be ripping me a new one...ha-ha.

The answer to your question is in Daniel 9 where Scripture speaks of the people of the prince who is to come.

Who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD, Mormons from Salt Lake City, Utah? I don't think so.

Residents from Hawaii or Chicago? I don't think it was them either.

This article on what the Candidates believe (which who be damnable heresies, error, etc. etc.) still relates to Daniel, and his three God fearing friends and how they served in Babylon.

Voddie Baucham's introduction to Daniel A Tale of Two Kingdoms is a great listen for the time we are in right now in the U.S.

Updating my post:

I am appalled
From the Article:
Fuller Theological Seminary President Richard Mouw said: “I have no question in my mind that Bob (Bob Millet of Brigham Young University) worships the same Jesus that I worship.”

To which IMHO Richard Mouw doesn't know who Jesus Christ really is, as He is in no way the "spirit brother of Lucifer".

Wow, this article doesn't make my job of voting any easier.

As an aside, could Romney be the Anti-Christ spoken of in the bible? He believes some weird stuff about who and what God and the Son are.

I'm glad my salvation and standing before God isn't predicated on which of these 2 professing believers are voted into office.
