Vatican calls for 'central world bank' to rule over financial institutions
The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises. The document from the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department should please the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.

“Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions. “The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence,” it said.

It condemned what it called “the idolatry of ...

I have to think for some sincere Roman Catholic people it will be one of the hardest things they have ever done in their lives to come to the place where they honestly and humbly admit before God, themselves and men on this earth, that (quote) church, their religious institution is utterly false, that it has not told men the saving Truth of Christ and hated that truth to the point of putting even its own priests who discovered it in the Bible to death to keep its power over men.

To repent of their sins of unbelief, idolatry, etc. etc. part company with Rome and believe on Jesus Christ as He really is to save them.

You will find some of the price men and women paid (and that too small a price) at the hands of your church and others in Foxe's Book of Martyrs

I hope God uses it to be a blessing to you.

No (quote) go to denomination?
Seriously about 100 years before Luther (whom I sort of like, not entirely as I am a Baptist) didn't you all Catholics burn John Huss at the stake, maybe that might have been on Luther's mind AND STILL it was more importatnt to break ties with Catholic lies for the sake of the Truth he was discovering was right there in the Bible the RCC didn't want us common people reading for ourselves, than to save his own trembling hide.
Now there might indeed have been some (qoute) go to denominations [Donatists, Paulicians, Petrorussians, Albigensians, Waldensians, Anabaptist, Lollards for example] for Luther if you all hadn't slaughtered them to where they were indeed just a remnant of genuine New Testament believers here and there that the Lord had kept for Himself.

There's nothing new under the Sun.
He with itching ears will never be saved, whether he attend the RCC or any number of liberal protestant churches or cults.

I am most grateful the Lord did not save me through the minstry of one particular church, so that I have no party spirit. The only spirit I have is the Holy Ghost, who has graciously brought me to my knees at the foot of the Cross, where Christ died FOR ME, and who rose again and ascended to the right hand of the Father.

I am justified by GOD, and no man may dare anathematise me without incurring the displeasure of the Great and Sovereign Spirit, who rules in the affairs of men, and forgets nothing. Your (antichrist) pope can say whatever he likes, he don't fool me none, Leslie.

But if you would be saved, it must be by grace and through faith alone in Christ alone, because your works just don't hack it, man. They are not good enough for God who demands perfection. This is why eternal life is a gift, and righteousness is imputed, lest there should be none saved at all.

Get to it, Les.

It's true what you say.

However, both clergy and members can leave and even use hairdryers to "unbaptize" themselves. When they do they are self-excommunicating, that is, cutting themselves off from the mercy of Christ.

Adam and Eve tried to cut themselves off from the Lord by hiding from Him after they ate the forbidden fruit.

When Luther and his colleagues cut themselves off from the Church, this created an awesome fear in each of them because, at the time, there was no go-to denomination. Today, when a priest or parishioner leave, he's got plenty of denominations, each telling himself what his itching ears want to hear.

There's nothing new under the Sun.

Obviously you don't believe what the RCC claims for itself.

Since its inception it has held on to people by causing them to fear, telling them lies, claiming the authority to damn or save the soul, claiming the ability to anathematise or make a saint, and all sorts of other incentives to dominate and control the masses.

For example: you must attend mass to receive Christ, and only our priests can change the wafer into Christ.

Unless you accept Catholic doctrine on transubstantiation, you are damned. And the only church which believes this doctrine is the RCC, so if you leave the church, you are damned.

I have personally met Catholics who were fearful, and they were fearful because they were brainwashed into thinking the priests had great authority. Folks in South Ireland are more fearful of priests than the garda, because the police can arrest them, but the priests can damn their souls.

Do I need to say any more, Leslie?

Now come on LSF.
Its not so long ago that you were complaining that the Protestant church didn't have a central body to dictate what the ONE perfect theology should be for all Prot churches.
You can't have it both ways.

If you submit to the human intellectual assent to join the RCC, you are expected to knuckle under and receive their version of "Bible" doctrines AND OF COURSE TRADITIONS of said Roman Catholic religion.

Whilst the Protestant church practices Sola Scriptura and endeavours to remain with and in sound Bible doctrines, the Roman Catholic system adds to Scripture various human hypotheses, ideologies, myths and philosophies.

Thus the Vatican feeds the ignorant masses on a recipe of religious hocuspocus and illusion, which the natural sinner receives and follows as predicted in Scripture... "And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of." 2Peter 2:2 - "and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;" Eph 4:14.

If a priest doesn't like it, he can resign, rip out 7 books from the Bible and start his own Protestant church as many have done. No biggie, right?

Also, if a member doesn't like it, he can walk across the street, sign a card and become a member of your Presbyterian church.

Sounds like total religious freedom, doesn't it?

All signs point to a global economic organization needed to guide the world's economy. Reformed Presbyterians should find a seat at the UN-level economic summits to ensure that their voices, too, are heard.

a) "rules and controls" - Sign of the "Big Brother" mind set of the Vatican and the Magisterium. Being a very socialist organisation, (the heirarchy tells them what to believe) the Roman Catholic church continues to exercise total authority over the thinking and acting of its people.

"Some animals are more equal than others" (Orwell) And the "more equal" heirarchy in the Vatican ensure that the RC proletariat, behind the alter and in front, are properly regulated, controlled and told exactly what the Bible says to them. Thus do the gullible believe what they are told and worship the Vatican accordingly, without being too troubled by Scripture.

b) You got something against Presbyterians.

Remember playing Monopoly when you were young? This game is aptly named for the natural consequence of unchecked Capitalism. Power wielded by the few over the many -- a monopoly -- arises in every industry including the banking sector. What "rules and controls" details will the Vatican propose remains to be seen. This process would be difficult since the golden rule is universal: he who has the gold makes the rules.
Hopefully other Christians, including Reformed Baptists, will be at the table to discuss their biblical global economic perspectives.

Capitalism is well preferred over the unchecked monopoly of unchecked government. Human nature is what it is. Centralized corruption is the outcome of centralized control. History reveals. Differentiate beween crony cap. and free enterprise

The little guy is in harm's way when many fallen men have power, but is helped by giving over the power to few fallen men? Please.

Researcher Eustice Mullins writes that the Rothschilds took over all the financial operations of the worldwide (Roman) Catholic Church in 1823.

Today the large banking and financial business of the (Roman) Catholic Church is an extensive system interlocked with the Rothschilds and the rest of the International Banking system. The great wealth of the Russian Czars was entrusted to the Rothschilds, $35 million with the Rothschild's Bank of England and $80 million in the Rothschild's Paris bank.
