man surely is the problem because he is a sinner and does not know God and does not follow God's ways. true doctrine then applied is the living out of the truth. we have very little biblical teaching today and reading of the bible, compared to past generations. we desperately need good teaching and more time in the word, oh yes, more and more doctrine.... and the living it out. thing is it cannot be done in the flesh, it is a work of God.
you have some good points, but for having something to say, to be so defensive, calling someone "judgmental" when refuting your statements wreaks of public school indoctrination. you cannot stand on an idea and then explain it? then live in the world technotoys, where so many do not have to challenge themselves with real life.
ideas in themselves are judgments and you started out with a big one, that being that most everyone is doing church wrong.... that is a judgment. if in your belief system, judgment is a bad thing, then you did a bad. however, I believe that making judgments is essential to life itself and must always be done....
real Christianity is based on truth, not lies. and yes, that's a judgment.
Mintal thanks for judging me. Especially like you know me. Btw ..... It's not MY gospel. It never was. Maybe it's YOURS. Because you know it all. I state on here now , I do not know the bible better than you or the next person. Ok ? Why do you think I wrote keep it simple and it's about JESUS. Jesus saves , not you or me or a denomination. But I guess you missed that. Please, continue to enlighten us all .

This is YOUR Doctrine.
Your presumption suggests you know the Bible better than millions today and throughout history.
Matthew 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes
Are you also "astonished" at the Doctrine of Jesus - or do you rebuke Jesus for not complying with your doctrine?
Apparently Paul is not as "Biblical" as you either. Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Doctrine is set in the Bible, I would suggest many of you read the book of Hebrews and learn about Putting Doctrine Into Practice Remember what Christ said about false followers?
Matthew 7 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'---NASB
To me, after reading this article and comments, there is way too much docterine , sets of rules ( man made ) this church is right , that church is right , this docterine or that docterine is right or wrong. I see man being the problem and the reason why churches are not as full. People are tired of the show, people want to see authenticity , real christianity, the real power of salvation and repentance, people desperately need to see and encounter the living God. What ever happened to keeping it real and simple, what ever happened to It being about Jesus?
This article is giving place to an old red harring trick. There is no real church growth, church attendance is down across the country. What the AG is known for, like most holiness groups, and so called megacchurches, is "stealing" members from other churches. The red harring is "the movement of attendees," the real story being hidden here is the decay of modern christianity and membership: aka, a dying religeon.
I agree. "Bad roots produce bad fruits". That teaching has produced so much doubts in true saints it's sad. As a 24 year old who was in that mess for two years I've seen the pain that demonic doctrine has caused in people who were hungry for righteousness. It's horrible. Now I'm reformed in my theology and can see through that madness. Bless God for his Grace cause I would've been back flipping off of walls blaspheming the Holy Spirit ( not that every AOG does that in respect to them).

Hi Dolores. Much of the confession for the AOG churches is orthodox and agreeable. However, at least in the UK, observe what HQ has to say about tongues:
"We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the believer with power for service, the essential, biblical evidence of which is the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance."
Every Christian is to be baptised in the Holy Ghost, and so every Christian is to speak in tongues, according to the AOG.
I've belonged to the Assemblies of God and you did not have to speak in tongues or be baptized again if you came from another church..I was not aware that the Pastor had to speak in tongues but I am sure he had to be filled with the Holy Spirit after all that's one of their doctrines..why are they growing because people are tired of a watered down gospel, that really believes what the Bible says and helps people's faith not try to tear it down. No gays in their church, unless there is salvation through repentance, to be married in or child care workers.
Problem for me with AOG churches and others is the little set of rules you get once you become a member. With AOG you cannot become a pastor if you do not speak in tongues. Speaking in tongues is the only evidence for being filled with the Holy Spirit according to the church of AOG. So if the LORD has blessed you with the gift of being a pastor and not given you the gift of tongues you would not be able to exercise your gift fully in this church.
