Dave Hunt 1926-2013

Born in 1926, David Charles Haddon Hunt enjoyed the advantages of a godly upbringing and placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in his early teens.

As a young man, he served in the military toward the end of World War II. Afterward, he attended UCLA and received a degree in mathematics. It was during that time that he met the love of his life, Ruth Klassen. In 1950, they were married, and since both loved the outdoors, they enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon hiking in the High Sierras—perfect for two young people madly in love and with very little money to their name. Marriage was soon followed by the birth of two sons and two daughters. Ruth was a busy mother and also a gifted writer herself. She had a tremendous interest in and knowledge of history, a gift that would help Dave further down the road. Dave’s own career path led him into a position as a CPA/management consultant ...

There are great quotations in the book, such as the following:
Pope Adrian VI, 1523 wrote:
It is beyond question that he [the pope] can err even in matters touching the faith. He does this when he teaches heresy by his own judgment or decretal. In truth, many Roman Pontiffs were heretics.
excerpt from excerpt from Chap. 9 of Woman Rides the Beast.

Now, admittedly because of Dave's faults in attacks on Calvinism, and even perhaps his choice of Bible versions, (I seem to be able to overlook that) They don't want to purchase a copy of A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days [Paperback] or even get the Kindle version, this is why it is important that it is in one's city libraries, so even Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses (PDF) who might be embarrassed to have a permanent copy will at least have a chance to read it. Oh, the sermon, Dispensations is quite

Ah, but SteveR, Premillennialism: The Second Foundation has been around for a long time, The Unscriptural Theologies Of Amillennialism And Postmillennialism should be rejected. I would suggest you listen to the short sermon on Dispensations, to get a correct view of it.
Oh, and make sure your public library has a copy of "Woman Rides The Beast," You can get the Kindle version too!
Premill yes, but not these pre/mid trib fantasies. I'll pass on the book, as I know the arguments and find them lacking.

It was interesting that Mr. Hunt had pastors review his book, attacking Calvinism, and he completely ignored their complaints. Of the The Five Solas of the Reformation he seemed to entirely to forget to the glory of God alone, It not only meant that a church or Pope could have God's glory, but it was preeminent in determining on looking upon God's love.

But, Dave, had some other errors. He did give up on Biblical Numerology, when it was pointed out to him that wasn't Biblical, unfortunately He didn't give up on his attack on the Calvinist points that were Biblical or for that matter his support of the KJV only position.

He was very friendly to the Reformed community at one time, then(I cant remember what year it was) he just went completely anti-TULIP. He even published a video that proclaimed TULIP Churches were churches of hell.

As you can imagine, I cant tell you how bad that went over in the Reformed world. Yikes...He hurt many of his friends in the Reformed Churches that hated Rome as much as he did.

Anyways, I eventually saw the tape. It played just like a 1960s atheist anti Christian propaganda film with just 'Christianity' replaced with 'Calvinism.'

Very unbecoming

Lisa, one thing about Dave, is that he knew more than 5 reasons Why Catholic is not Christian though of course it was like preaching to the choir when he came to IHCC, those many years, back it was to inform us be the Romish Church, though even then we had quite a few ex-Catholics who came to know Christ, and of course who knew it was proper to Come Out Of The Catholic Church (PDF). But, yes, unfortunately made some unfortunate serious theological errors, later in life when made him unwelcomed at many Calvinistic Churches.

SteveR, I should point out, and I'm happy to say, after I and perhaps others pointed out they should have a copy of Dave Hunt's A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days [Paperback] The Lincoln City Library has a copy of this book. It should be easily available not only to Christians, but to non-Christians as well, such as Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses (PDF). Make sure your public libr. has a copy

It could be, but that would not reflect ETWNs Biblical 'turn the other cheek' character. They, at least from what Ive seen, dont lower themselves to antirome pretribber level.

However, such a movie might bring those dispensationalists involved to true repentance if they havent as yet.

It is a blessing to hear your appreciation and that of others for Dave Hunt and his ministry.

I have been particularly blessed with his very Biblical observation, coming from the Book of Revelation and the issue of the woman who rides the beast:

"An Antichrist "Christianity" must be created which embraces all religions and which all religions will embrace - precisely what is ocurring today with astonishing speed"

Even here on SermonAudio we are visited with individuals who are zealously about this very evil unbiblical thing.

Yes, we need more Dave Hunts in our day.

FALSE PROFITS OF DISPENSATIONALISM
A group of dispys buy into the whole NWO story where the Vatican is the antichrist and/or false prophet. These millerites are convinced this alliance is the EVIL whore, they are GOOD. They accomplished whatever ritual(believer baptism,lay of hands,altarcall) their churches require to be accepted as 'good' so their goodness isnt in doubt by their peers. Rather than repeat the mistakes of previous millerite date setting, they believe the Beasts arrival is 'imminent' because they know the 'signs.' Convinced microchipping is part of the antichrist plan, these 'Christians' buy stock in Digital Angel. Thats right! They are buying stock in the company that will microchip unbelievers; business partners/supplier to the devil(by their own theology). So what is the #1 concern of these 'Christians?' {DRUMROLL PLEASE}
How much time they will have to spend the profits from their stock gains before the Rapture!
At least the millerites of yesteryear would sell everything they had and give the money to the poor.
* Note- the stock went straight down.
This would make a good movie for EWTN.

Sorry, and surprised to read this. I have read A Woman Rides the Beast a couple of times and it is beyond thorough; prophetic as to the churches role leading up to and during the end of days.

Whilst Dave Hunt wrote much that was very good, it always saddened me that a man with such a 'Berean Call' and the middle names 'Charles Haddon' decided late in his life to make such a poor contribution to the defence of the faith by misrepresenting C H Spurgeon.

QUOTATIONS OF CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON USED IN THE BOOK

'On page 19 of your book, Dave, you make the assertion that Charles Spurgeon “unequivocally” denied particular redemption (limited atonement). Thanks for the links. I was already aware of some of Dave's errors, but this article by White is very good. I too pray for Dave's family and those that loved him.

Yep know of the woman rides the beast- I will miss dave because of his input on the berean call newsletter. Often spot on, occasionally not what I would have published. No-one is spot on all the time, but I for one shall miss him and look forward to meeting him again.
