Obama, Cheney, Bush and Powell in New Pro-Gay Marriage Ad

A new advertisement launched by the Respect for Marriage Coalition on Wednesday shows U.S. President Barack Obama, former first lady Laura Bush, former vice president Dick Cheney, and former secretary of state Colin Powell, all speaking out on their support for same-sex marriage in the U.S.

For example, Cheney and Obama have previously had numerous disagreements regarding national security, yet they agree on the topic of same-sex marriage.

The advertisement features previous clips of Cheney, Obama, Bush, and Powell discussing their support for same-sex marriage. ...

I believe this is what makes the difference, bro.

If anyone is interested in what Jesus had to say about the world (kosmos) the Father so loved.....

Mat 13:36-44 Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (See also Isaiah 5:1-7)

But why listen to Jesus when our favored theology is at stake?

Then I'll take it that you cannot prove it beyond doubt. You hypers are all the same. Because you can't prove anything from the Bible you have to insist that the bible is written in code for the elect and then it follows of course that the elect all concur in everything and so they must be a narrow sectarian Presbyterian party blah blah....!

How'd I do?!

Oh look Mike, God and His servant Paul got it wrong.
They said:-

Ephesians 2:3
"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

God hates unconverted sinners?

Wow that's a new one! He hates even the elect which he chose in eternity past?

I tell you what, tell me the moment when God's hate changed to love, in someone who got saved, and the reason for such a change. Or if you believe God both hates and loves sinners, does he still love and hate his people when they are converted?

Jeremiah 31:3 KJV
3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Ah, that old sinner Jeremy was loved an eternity ago, and it was the love of God for him that prompted the drawing in lovingkindness.

This discussion is a great example of people's tendency to take one particular aspect of truth (or a single Bible verse)and base everything on that. Usually, they swing the pendulum entirely one direction or - in a reactionary manner - they swing it entirely the opposite. Acutally, this is a case where the truth falls between the two extremes. You cannot base your theology solely on Jn. 3:16 while ignoring the clear statements of Psa. 5:4 & 11:5. You can't just make up ideas like - "Well, it's really just the sinner who hates & is angry at God" when the Bible clearly says God hates them & is angry at them. Yet, one also cannot absurdly argue that the "world" in Jn. 3:16 doesn't really mean "world": such an idea does not come out of the text, but rather is read into the text because of pre-existing theological conclusions(i.e. using one's conclusion to argue his point). Honestly, what in the context of Jn. 3 tells us that Jesus is speaking only of the elect? The truth is: God is perfect in all His attributes. He is perfect in what & how He hates and perfect in what & how He loves. God both hates (i.e. rejects) and yet loves (chooses to offer redemption) to the sinner. Can we not just accept that God both loves & hates sinners, since the Bible proclaims both truths?

Good point, John

There IS a departure from the true gospel...

"Establishing the Authentic Gospel is based on Richard Bennetts own 14-year search for the true Gospel as a priest, including, in particular, his struggle with man-centered Evangelicals. Citing names, Richard gives examples of humanistic ways in which modern Evangelists give a so-called gospel. These illustrate the wholesale departure from the true Gospel that is taking place in the modern world. Permeating Richards address is the Lords invincible Gospel"

Good morning brother.

I also would take issue with Jim over that expression, but for different reasons. It is the sinner who is at enmity with God, it is the sinner who hates God, hates his ways, hates his laws, hates his people, and will not have the Lord reign over his life. This is what all sinners have in common. And without saving grace, all sinners would remain in such a condition. How shall dead bones live?

Now with someone passing into eternity every second or two, we could say that over ninety in every hundred are thrust into hellfire. Does God love these in just the same way he loves the less than ten who are joyfully received into heaven?

What then made the difference? Why were some lost and some saved? Was it something in the man himself? Something he did?

No, Naty, God Hates Sin, Hates Sinners.

I see Mrs. Bush has tried to take her name off of this advertisement, as some of you others have noticed. Apparently some other Bushes want to run for political Office?

Matthew 19
3 And some Pharisees came to Him, testing Him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause at all?"
4 And He answered and said, "Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
5 and said, 'FOR THIS CAUSE A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE; AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?
6 "Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."---NASB
