No Protestant on GOP Ticket for First Time Ever

For the first time in the nation's political history, the Republican ticket will be absent a Protestant as either the presidential or vice presidential candidate. Mitt Romney is Mormon and Paul Ryan is Catholic.

Yet the Protestant, even evangelical heavy Iowa and Nebraska delegates who are filling the convention hall in downtown Tampa seemed unfazed by this trivial fact. What they deemed more important was that both men were committed husbands and fathers and were men of deep faith.

It's all a sign the times are a'changing, Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman told KerneyHub.com. "I think it reflects who we are as Americans. We are constantly changing. We are always striving to get better." ...

Ohh. I forgot this also. Prayer: The Roman Catholic Church teaches Catholics to not only pray to God, but also to petition Mary and the saints for their prayers. Contrary to this, we are taught in Scripture to only pray to God (Matthew 6:9; Luke 18:1-7).

Priesthood: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that there is a distinction between the clergy and the "lay people," whereas the New Testament teaches the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9).

John. Test all things with scripture alone. See if it aligns with the catholic church.
Mary: The Roman Catholic Church teaches, among other things, that Mary is the Queen of Heaven, a perpetual virgin, and the co-redemptress who ascended into heaven. In Scripture, she is portrayed as an obedient, believing servant of God, who became the mother of Jesus. None of the other attributes mentioned by the Roman Catholic Church have any basis in the Bible. The idea of Mary being the co-redemptress and another mediator between God and man is not only extra-biblical (found only outside of Scripture), but is also unbiblical (contrary to Scripture). Acts 4:12 declares that Jesus is the only redeemer. 1 Timothy 2:5 proclaims that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men.

Many other examples could be given. These issues alone clearly identify the Catholic Church as being unbiblical. Every Christian denomination has traditions and practices that are not explicitly based on Scripture. That is why Scripture must be the standard of Christian faith and practice. The Word of God is always true and reliable. The same cannot be said of church tradition. Our guideline is to be: "What does Scripture say?" (Romans 4:3; Galatians 4:30; Acts 17:11). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 declares, "All Scripture is

That is why I said they were a good counterfeit. I found lots of internet articles on the cult of Catholicism, but the below addresses your concern.

"The one thing that all cults have in common is that they deny the deity of Christ. But you say, ‚Äúthe Catholics don‚Äôt do that!‚ÄĚ Ah but they do. The Jesus that died on the cross according to Rome was not sufficient to pay for sin. Purgatory and the Treasury of the Communion of the Saints is also nessary for salvation. That my friend, is a different Jesus. Paying lip service to His deity and then denying His atoning sacrifice is not the Jesus of the Bible!"

I was raised Catholic so I suppose you could say I was saved out of that diabolical system. I have written about 50 pages on the cult of Catholicism if you want more information. My email is of course above.

Here is a very true statement. There is no doctrine in Catholicism that is according to scripture; none!

To prove my point, it is my understanding that more than a billion people claim the Catholic faith worldwide. That is much more than all the other cults combined.
The Catholic Church is not a Cult because it has always worshipped Jesus as God and has always acknowledged the Holy Trinity. A Cult does not worship Jesus as God and does not acknowledge the Holy Trinity. That is what I learned from the late D. James Kennedy Presbyterian minister from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Normal Protestants do not believe that the Catholic Church is a Cult because they know that a Cult does not worship Jesus as God and does not acknowledge the Holy Trinity. Only abnormal Protestants believe that the Catholic Church is a Cult. I suppose you also believe that the Lutheran Church is a Cult?

Yes it is John. But don't forget that the Roman Catholic mob you belong to is a cult too and even more dangerous an idolatrous blasphemous unBiblical cult at that. And Roman Catholics have been propping up the evil Democrats for years.

But religion aside - and it has to be put aside - the issue in this election is whether evangelical and the stronger Biblical Christians, are prepared to vote to prevent the abomination party - the Democrats, back in for four more years. If you allow that to happen then America is dead, spiritually morally socially and politically.
