Steve Jobs's last words: 'Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow'

Steve Jobs's biological sister, Mona Simpson, wrote a moving and highly personal eulogy for a private funeral service for the fallen tech titan that took place a few days after his death in last month.

An acclaimed novelist, she delivered a beautifully written description of Jobs's life, illness and death. She said his last words before he slipped into unconsciousness for the last time were, "Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow."

Darby version of the Bible just used better texts than was used in the Anglican Version, q.v., Why I Do Not Think the King James Bible Is the Best Translation Available Today, or in 1881 for that matter.

I would suggest that you read, A Short History Of Dispensationalism Darby expounded on Dispensationalism, he didn't invent it.

and a comment about the Darby Bible:

Miles J. Standford wrote:
Over and above this he accomplished scholarly and deeply spiritual work in translating the Bible into English, French, German; and the NT in Italian. His "Darby Bible" is considered by theologians to be on a par with the American Standard Version 1901, published several years later.

I agree with you on this for sure, and as I read your observations I couldn't help but draw a conclusion about the "ages" taught in evolution as well.

It also made me think of the "New Agers" that are waiting for a "great awakening" that brings in a new age, the Age of Aquarius for example. The next step in our evolution they say, when we awaken to our real potential. Us being gods really, and we hear hints about it coming December 21 2012 at the end of the Mayan calender and such things as that. Quantum shift, Paradigm Shift and terms like that are often used.

Seems a horrible thing to change the Words God chooses and replace them with counterfeits so you can teach a whole new doctrine all your own with your very own new Darby version bible that allows it.

Thanks for pointing that out JPW!

http://www.libertytothecaptives.net/darby_world_age.html

Matthew 12:32

KJV neither this world
Darby neither this age

Matthew 13:49

KJV end of the world
Darby completion of the age

Matthew 24:3

KJV end of world
Darby completion of age

Matthew 28:20

KJV the end of the world
Darby completion of the age

Luke 18:30

KJV the world to come
Darby the coming age

All of this gives an impression of an end of an age, rather than the end of the world. The bible's emphasis being on eternal punishment and the need for redemption.

Dispensationalism was introduced by God, to really set the record straight, Dispensations

and...

Dr. Thomas Ice wrote:
Although Darby was the first to systematize dispensationalism, I believe that rudimentary features can be found prior to the nineteenth century, especially in the early church and the three hundred years prior to Darby. Opponents often debate a pre-Darby heritage, but I think the evidence does support our claim that there are historical and theological antecedents to the modern system.

westcoastreader, thanks for the links. that is some serious business there! The changes between the KJV and Darby bible are very concerning. One that stands out for me is

2John 1:7

KJV-Jesus Christ is come in the flesh
(present reality)

Darby-Jesus Christ coming in the flesh
(future)

This sounds to me like two different gospels.

It sure is! but not so directly as I stated it, because if people caught that, they wouldn't follow it, and it is the prevalent teaching in most church denominations today. I've been a dispensationalist for 25 years and never heard it put so plainly.

At first I thought my friend misunderstood, but while looking at dispensationalist commentaries on 2 Thess 2:7 I read the famous H.A Ironside's words link for page with free commentary for free TheWord Bible software so you can see for yourself

H.A. Ironside in Ironside's notes on Selected Books wrote:
The Holy Spirit is in the world, where He is working in and through the church of God. He indwells every believer individually and the church collectively; therefore as long as the church is in the world, the antichrist will not be revealed.

and

The Holy Spirit came to abide with the church forever, so as long as the church is here, He will be here. But when the church is caught up to be with the Lord, the Spirit of God will no longer be in the world...

That Darby Scollfield stuff link is great; Wow Thanks.

I study the New Age stuff quite a bit, and yes, briefly looking at Darby's choice of words and his scripture changes (tampering is what it is), something dark was definitely going on with this stuff.

Sorry, this could go way off topic.
Dispensationalism teaches that the church leaves the earth at the rapture, and the Holy Spirit leaves too, so the man of sin can be revealed.

But what about all the people who are saved during "the tribulation"? (Rev 7:14 is quoted) According to dispenationalism, they get saved during the tribulation without the Holy Spirit, because He already left with the church at the pre-trib rapture.

Don't ask me to make sense out of that, it doesn't make sense. The Bible teaches in many places that salvation is complete in Christ, and the impartation and indwelling of the Holy Spirit is part of being Saved.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9)

John Wesley wrote that "the time, times and half a time" of Revelation 12:14 were 10581836, "when Christ should come" (A. M. Morris, The Prophecies Unveiled, p. 361)

That means he predicted Christ would return in 1836.

Dispensationalism was introduced in early 1800's by J.N. Darby, who is accused of being a Jesuit. Have you studied that accusation before S.P?

Not Only Was JOHN WESLEY A DISPENSATIONALIST; BUT, HE WOULDN'T FALL FOR THE SATANIC+VATICAN "JESUIT(IC)S" GARBAGE & PROPAGANDA OF GOING TO PHYSICAL "[UN]HOLY" WAR AGAINST THE "MAHOMETANS" (MOHAMMEDANS) AS "boob-a-job" & THE OTHER "JESUIT(IC)S" ADVOCATE ON S-A !

JOHN WESLEY Said On His Deathbed:

"THE BEST OF ALL IS, GOD IS WITH US !
THE BEST OF ALL IS, GOD IS WITH US !"

GEORGE WHITEFIELD Said As His Last Dying Words:

"I AM DYING" !

AT WHITEFIELD'S MEMORIAL SERVICE, JOHN WESLEY SAID:

"OH, WHAT HAS THE CHURCH SUFFERED IN THE SETTING OF THAT BRIGHT STAR WHICH SHONE SO GLORIOUSLY IN OUR HEMISPHERE. WE HAVE NONE LEFT TO SUCCEED HIM; NONE OF HIS GIFTS; NONE ANYTHING LIKE HIM IN USEFULNESS."

CHARLES WESLEY DICTATED TO HIS WIFE:

"IN AGE AND FEEBLENESS EXTREME,
WHAT SHALL A SINFUL WORM REDEEM ?
JESUS, MY ONLY HOPE THOU ART,
STRENGTH OF MY FAILING FLESH AND HEART,
O COULD I CATCH A SMILE FROM THEE,
AND DROP INTO ETERNITY." !

**CHARLES FINNEY, A TRUE REVIVALIST LIKE THE WESLEYS, WROTE IN 1868 "WHY I LEFT FREEMASONRY" ASKED:

"#1.IS ANY MAN WHO IS UNDER A MOST SOLEMN OATH TO KILL ALL WHO VIOLATE ANY PART OF MASONIC OATHS, A FIT PERSON TO BE AT LARGE AMONG MEN ?

#2.OUGHT FREEMASONS OF THIS STAMP TO BE FELLOWSHIPPED IN THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH ?"

In 1 Tim. 6, the context was Paul's directions concerning *church members*, not pagan outsiders like Jobs. Or is eternal life (v.19) a promise to ALL the generous rich, including those outside the church? If so, then Bill Gates has got it made.

Derbyshire's stereotyping of Apple customers is a puerile, false generalization, and besides, I doubt Apple would have achieved its market position today if their customer base was restricted to effete urbanites.

One man's plaything is another's vital necessity. Do not judge hastily, lest you be judged.

Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs has the info on his high B.O. days with Atari, mentioned on a major radio talk show in the week the bk was released. They have not been sued for defamation or libel.
Apple has a high profit margin--some say 40 percent--but no one complains of their high prices, while banks and oil companies are vilified for any profits they make-doesn't seem fair.
Dennis Ritchie vs. Jobs: computer language vs. gadgets for metrosexuals is from John Derbyshire commentary on National Review website.
Making products people will buy--making meth in your basement or growing marihuana there would be OK, I guess.
See example of inventor of Slinkys--sold all to become a missionary but ruined his family. I think First Timothy 6:17 to 19 are good verses for rich people like Jobs, et. al.
