END TIMES: Scholars differ on what Bible says about subject
When it comes to the end of time, at least one thing is certain: Southern Baptists have a variety of opinions.
"Frankly, I find some Christian eschatological interpretations embarrassing," guest lecturer Craig Evans of Acadia Divinity School said during a discussion of the Dead Sea Scrolls at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. "There are some pulpiteers, TV evangelists, and popular writers who think they've got this all figured out."
When asked his interpretation of Bible prophecy from references to the armies of Belial, armies of Satan, and a mention of Magog, Evans said, "I just say to be cautious about that because we don't always know what's going on. Some of this is metaphorical, poetic and so forth, and to bring a scientific precision to it and pigeonhole everything -- I think that's a very questionable approach."...
Another proof that GOD gives that assures the rapture will occur MAY 21, 2011
God in His great mercy has given a marvelous proof that the year 2011 is the year of Judgment Day and the end of the world. Remember in 2 Peter 3:8, in the context of pointing us to the flood of Noah‚Äôs day as well as to the destruction of the world at the end of time, He declared: ‚Äúone day with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.‚ÄĚ
Years ago we learned from the Bible that the flood occurred in the year 4990 B.C. More recently we learned that Judgment Day is to occur in the year 2011 A.D. 2011 A.D. is exactly 7,000 years after 4990 B.C.
Just before the flood Noah was instructed by God that in seven days the flood would begin (Genesis 7:10-16). Using the language of 2 Peter 3:8 that ‚Äúa day is as a thousand years,‚ÄĚ it is like saying through Noah, who was a preacher (2 Peter 2:5): ‚Äúmankind has seven days or 7,000 years to escape destruction.‚ÄĚ Since 2011 A.D. is precisely 7,000 years after Noah preached, God has given mankind a wonderful proof that Judgment Day will occur in the year 2011.

A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. Ecclesiastes 8:5
Christ and Judgment Day come in the night. In 1 Thessalonians 5:3 Christ tells us, ‚ÄúWhen they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them.‚ÄĚ Because destruction comes upon them, we can know for certain that these people are not saved. Being unsaved, they are in spiritual darkness. They are in the night. Judgment Day is coming for them as a ‚Äúthief in the night.‚ÄĚ Yet they believe they are at peace with God and safely under His care. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
Nevertheless churches teach their members that:
1. They as confessing members of their church are safely in Christ’s care.
2. No man can know the day or hour of Christ’s return.
These dear people do not realize at all that they, themselves, are in spiritual nighttime, a condition that guarantees that when Christ comes they, themselves, will be destroyed in the Day of Judgment. How awful! It is the true believers who know the time (the hour) and much about Judgment Day (the day). They are not in the nighttime of spiritual darkness.
As is evidenced below, there are a great many views on End Time events. Some of which are very unfair in their denunciations of others. And it can be quite confusing to hear each one dogmaticaly stating their case and making people who hold other views sound like idiots. However, none of those things are reason to avoid our responsibility to search out the matter ourselves. In my experience, most people who take the approach that Evans takes, are actually liberals theologicly. Iv'e seen that approach in denominations that as a whole had gone liberal, but it's sad to see it in the denomination that I was saved, liscensed, and ordained in.
I really hope that no one is thinking, “Well, I hear all of these things, but I am just not ready. I am just not ready. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe in a month, maybe in 2010, that is it; that is when I am going to get ready. That is when I am going to get serious and go to the Lord, or maybe May 21 in 2010 when there is a year left.” But these same people will be saying, “Maybe in the fall of 2010 or maybe at Christmastime in 2010 or maybe New Year’s in 2011 or maybe in the spring in 2011 or maybe May 20th in 2011.”
This is really presumptuous of anyone and it is very dangerous. This is indicating that what you are really saying is, “I want to continue in evil and in the things that I want to do, and I do not want God to interrupt me.” Yet they will say, “Well, maybe I will try to turn when it gets closer.”
What they are failing to realize is that they cannot turn. This is not in their control. This is not under their power. This is why there should not be any delay from today. Today is the day of salvation. God does not say that tomorrow is the day of salvation.
And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. Revelation 9:5
The End of the World October 21, 2011
Sadly there will be many who will believe this nonsense. One doesn't need to be a scholar or theologian to realize that this verse and the "five months" of torment happen during the first woe; one and the same as the fifth trumpet sound.
The Lord doesn't come in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel (2 Thes 1:8) nor to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all them that believe (2 Thes 1:10) till the seventh trumpet sounds (1 Cor 15:52), His enemies have been made His footstool and He descends from the right hand of the Father with the voice of Michael the archangel (1 Thes 4:16).
The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Rev 11:14-15)
And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. Revelation 9:5 The End of the World October 21, 2011
The purpose of this tract is to inform you of the great urgency there now is in the world for each and every person to be reconciled to God. The Bible is the Word of God! Everything the Bible declares has the full authority of God Himself. Now, at this time, information is coming forth from the Bible which clearly reveals God’s plan for Judgment Day and the end of the world itself. The Bible has opened up its secrets concerning the timeline of history. This information was never previously known because God had closed up His Word blocking any attempt to gain knowledge of the end of the world. We read about this in the book of Daniel:

1 Thessalonians 4 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.---NASB
