President and first lady visit Harvey victims in Houston

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump traveled to Houston Saturday to meet victims displaced by Harvey. The president said he sees “a lot of love” amid the devastation caused by the tropical storm and its record-setting rainfall and flooding. Authorities now say 43 people have died as a result of the storm. It was Trump’s second visit to Texas this week. On Tuesday, the president stayed away from Houston to avoid disrupting recovery work. While visiting the city’s NRG Center, one of several mega-shelters housing hundreds of flood victims, Trump praised federal relief efforts. “I think people appreciate what’s been done,” he said. “It’s been done very efficiently, very well. And that’s what we want.” The president and first lady are scheduled to visit Lake Charles, La., another hard-hit area, later on Saturday. On Friday night, Trump sent Congress an initial request for $7.9 billion ...

Why would you post the prayer of a leftist liberal apostate and hold the position you espoused in the TX governor call for prayer thread about the prayers of the unregenerate?Jim, how do you reconcile your statement
"Praying along with non-Christians is an anathema, Ecumenism is an anti-Christian practice",
with the posting of this "prayer" by Michael Livingston??
When will you address this Jim?

For the most part, the only ones who apply the Christian label to the president are those who are then critical of him for not doing everything a Christian is supposed to do. So if he does something good, it doesn't matter because the good that might be done is bad because he's not a Christian. Kind of a perverse application, which shows he's not the only one who is inconsistent.

The national Home Builders Association had the ear too many politicians?
Nutter & Moore wrote:
For nearly 40 years, successive administrations declined to update Carter’s measure, until 2015, when Obama issued an executive order proposing the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard, which requires federally funded projects in flood plains to be built or renovated in safer ways....

The flood standard is intended to protect the federal government’s most important asset: our nation’s citizens. Flooding continues to be the deadliest natural disaster in the United States, taking 155 lives last year. The historic floods last month in West Virginia that killed more than 20 people serve as a somber reminder of the need to prepare for Mother Nature’s wrath.

Continued from above
[AUTHOR]Nutter & Moore[/AUTHOR]The standard also ensures that in an era of rising deficits and tight budgets, tax dollars are spent on projects that will not merely be washed away in the next storm. The rules establish consistent guidelines based on up-to-date science on flooding while protecting federal investments in an effort to ensure that limited federal resources are not wasted. While many Americans may think flooding is only a problem for coastal regions prone to hurricanes and tropical storms, it is far more widespread than that and can devastate any state or region across the country. In just the past five years, all 50 states have experienced flood damage.[/QUOTE]--https://tinyurl.com/jno2re6 (Don't block Obama's flood rule)

Yes indeed. But pray that the man is saved. Let's not pretend he is a Christian. One can only open his eyes to the truth of this man's heart. I mean let's think about it for a moment. Paula White is credited with bringing him to Jesus? That alone says something. What would say about the conversion rate after a Kenneth Copeland meeting? Same thing.. Bad fruit produces bad fruit. Like begets like.

We do not know hearts, but we can discern fruit. Bad fruit comes from a bad tree, Trump is not a born again Christian. However, we should pray for him.

I wonder...with all the "good" this president has done, has he sold off his casinos and shut down his shady business deals? If there is true fruit, then it should be showing in his personal life.

Or perhaps is this just catering to the rich and powerful evangelical movement that helped elect him in the first place?

Jim doesn't pause long enough to consider what others say. He wanders through the fields picking up every pasture patty, and throwing them against the barn wall in hopes some of them stick. If they don't, he doesn't ask why, but goes forth to gather more.

Indeed, the prayer that J Lincoln quoted from the Revd Michael Livingstone sounds very suspiciously like a full blown ecumenical leftist prayer, and if indeed this pastor is a member of the NCC, which of course is a branch of the infamous WCC, it is indeed a leftist, pro-environmentalist, socialistic prayer.

The WCC and its national branches, the NCC's, or as it is in Britain, "ChurchesTogether", is an apostate body, bringing together most of the large liberal mainstream Protestant denominations, a few extremely compromised supposedly "evangelical" Protestant denominations, most Eastern Orthodox Churches, and as a kind of honoured non-member observer, the Roman Catholic Chirch, in a horrible leftist, environmentalist, interfaith concatenation of "churches" that preach the social gospel, New Age, interfaith with other religions and communistic heresy out of its Geneva HQ.

During the days of the Soviet Union, the WCC openly supported the policies of this evil empire, and the state supported show churches of the Communist nations were active members of the WCC and were great apologists for the very policies of their secularist atheistical governments in the persecution of the true Christians on those countries!!

Sadly this is yet another demonstration of what you having been pointing out that it is politics which reigns supreme in Jim's life as this "prayer" is just an espousal of left wing political views.
