Prison Worker Banned From Chapel Services for Citing Bible on Homosexuality Loses Appeal

A Christian prison worker who was banned from attending prison chapel services because he cited a Bible verse that calls out the sin of homosexuality lost his appeal in court.

Pentecostal minister Barry Trayhorn, who worked at a prison for male sex offenders near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, England, and also volunteered in the prison's chapel since 2011, was barred from attending chapel services after he quoted the words of 1 Corinthians 6:9 when he spoke during a chapel service in May 2014.

According to Christian Legal Centre, the law group that represents Trayhorn in the tribunal, Trayhorn referenced that verse while talking about how God provides forgiveness for those who repent. ...

9Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes --
nor sodomites
10
nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11
That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God

So priests have a "PC " take on this- the "boy prostitues" and "sodomites" are the only problem.

They note "Greek word translated as boy prostitutes may refer to catamites, i.e., boys or young men who were kept for purposes of prostitution, a practice not uncommon in the Greco-Roman world. In Greek mythology this was the function of Ganymede, the “cupbearer of the gods,” whose Latin name was Catamitus. The term translated sodomites refers to adult males who indulged in homosexual practices with such boys. "
--no application to moderns, right mr. Priest?

"neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor effeminate,
nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"
Too generic & true for the 2012 priests.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. ---ESV

Now, often I don't include verse 11. But there it lies and I would hope this Pentecostal, had included that verse as well? If not in this prison situation perhaps he should have been kicked out? The Christianity of Pentecostals can sometimes be dubious.

Quite right, Christopher, unfortunately in this case on what sort of Christianity this Pentecostal represents? http://tinyurl.com/jga4xcx (Charismatic Chaos)

"Christian Legal Centre explained that the tribunal deemed Trayhorn's reference of the Bible to be "insensitive" and stated that he "failed to have regard for the special nature of the congregation in the prison."

Let's see if I got this right. This is a prison for male sex offenders, but talking to the prisoners about certain sex offenses is insensitive. Makes sense if you're mind is gone. Sounds like some on the outside of the walls should be inside.

Start stocking up on Bibles folks. Hide them well, and the best hiding place is the hearts of believers! Make no mistake; the Bible will eventually be outlawed. Pray, study! Study, pray!

""Justice Elizabeth Slade upheld the tribunal's ruling, stating that quoting such a verse from the Bible could "legitimise... mistreatment," a Christian Legal Centre press release explains.""

Again what we see is an attack on the Bible itself, the Word of God. Whilst we cannot expect the reprobates to receive the truth or accept God and His Holy Word, we do see here that justice is not just in these courtrooms.
Rejecting the Bible is rejecting the Holy Doctrines upon which Christianity has always been based. Today we see that courts discriminate against christians because of their religious beliefs, convictions and their obedience of God.

"Justice(?)" then is ONLY for the secular world and is being denied to the christian community.

After millennia of christian and Biblical ethics and justice in this country for the establishment to suddenly change the rules and deny traditional justice to the nation is unlawful and persecution of the church.

"To say that quoting a verse from the Bible can be offensive, could have serious implications on the freedom of prison ministers to share the good news of the gospel, It should not be for the state to decide which parts of the Bible can and cannot be quoted during preaching, nor to dictate that verses that some may find unpalatable should be interpreted to fit with current social norms."
As society spiral down , passages against beastiality and incest may be banned by totalitarian force.

"Prisoners need to hear God's word just as much as anyone else. If people come to a Christian chapel service, we cannot hold back the gospel truth that God forgives those who repent," Trayhorn said in a statement after the ruling. "In no way did my speaking from 1 Corinthians 6 intend to bully or mistreat anyone. I shared the Gospel with them because I am motivated by the love of Christ to tell them that they can find forgiveness. I told the prisoners I am the worst sinner I know."

Trayhorn added that this ruling will "restrict other people like me from sharing Christ in prisons."

"Christianity is under attack in this nation. I cannot help but wonder if other faiths would be given the same treatment,"

Black Muslim gangs organized by US Prison "preachers" widely ignored.
