Having children is one of the most destructive things you can to do the environment?

Having children is the most destructive thing a person can to do to the environment, according to a new study.

Researchers from Lund University in Sweden found having one fewer child per family can save “an average of 58.6 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions per year”.

Eating meat, driving a car and travelling by aeroplane made up the list of the most polluting things people can do to the planet.

But having children was top, according to the new study, published in the journal Environmental Research Letters. ...

Oh, I don't know about that, Sweden. I think filling your own country with religious fanatics is pretty destructive. How's that going, by the way? And we all know CO2 is good for growing things, right? And if we didn't eat meat, what would we do with all the cows? And if we didn't drive, how would we get to market to buy our vegan goodies? And if we didn't fly, how would the environmental wackos like those from Lund University, get to those international conferences on the environment?
One thing we can know for sure is, those researchers are not critical of their parents for having children. It's other people's children they want not to exist.

Sacrificial example Soylent Green style- offer themselves up to Swedish sausage factory- ad says
"Eating Vegetarians will save Gia"

Sorry, Haman, but I think you have cross-posting, in this case...which you, yourself have been doing, by the way, mixed up with staying on topic, perhaps? In that case, yes, you're right, and it was off-topic.
Some things need to be responded to, while others could just be left by the wayside.

Could anyone explain what the last comment posted had to do with this news item?
It seems like a few posters here are using up the SA pages to carry on a personal vendetta that could have been easily done via a phoney call to "stick to the issue"( as though brethren fellowship on a Christian site is extraneous) or females type complaint that they are not part of the in-group discussion between brethren; doesn't the fine print say 'no personal attacks'?

Maybe an included line about the story would be less Mt 7ish
"This means recycling is between three and 13 times less likely to save the planet than avoiding that extra flight at its heaviest"
"Recycling a plane for greenies means adding a peddle powered sprocket & derailleur gears for all seats. "

Researchers found that avoiding one trans-Atlantic flight per year can save between 0.7 and 2.8 tonnes of C02 equivalent per year (depending on the distance travelled, amount of luggage on board and how many passengers on the flight) whereas recycling will typically only save 0.21 tonnes of C02 equivalent per year.

Avoiding one post per year can save tons of gas.

What nobody can figure out, John,is why, knowing what you know, you would ever remain within such a religious system. You even go so far as to say you will raise any children Catholic and be buried in one of the churches cemetarys. Your heart can't be aligned with two diametrically opposed faiths, whether you pretend this or that or not. You're either fully with Him, or you're fully against Him. There is no grey area.
Yes, I considered it progress, but was floored when you said you would never, ever leave Roman Catholicism. Sounds like you're trying to cover all the bases, just in case. The false religious system of Rome is plainly against Him as is evidenced by their own manmade doctrines, rituals, and dogmas, etc., and you sit right in the middle of it all, faithfully every weekend in plain support by the mere fact that you're amongst them.

The Dems are just as guilty as the Republicans when it comes to allowing the shedding of innocent blood in America...BOTH PARTIES are guilty of covering the land with that innocent blood, which God will soon judge. Jim L. comes here daily, a goat disguised as a sheep, in his feeble attempts at pushing forth the same agenda all unregenerates have, which is the agenda of their father, the devil, who was a murderer and liar from the beginning.
May God have mercy on unregenerate sinners like Jim Lincoln, John Y., Steve R., and others who troll this forum to do the bidding of the enemy.
I am not unregenerate as I surrendered my life to Jesus as Savior and Lord some 20 years ago and I trust entirely in Him alone for salvation. If I was not really saved then I would never have started to attend that Baptist Church last September considering I previously stated I would never attend any Baptist or any other Evangelical Protestant Church faithfully every Sunday. And Pastor Steve would never had agreed to Baptize me via immersion if I was not really saved.

One wonders if Jim reads the articles to which he links (he has used this one several times).

For one, children are not the reponsibility of the government. A laissez-faire attitude of government is far more helpful than one of control.

The author of the article "demonstrates" the Republicans don't care because they don't shut down coal power plants, they support the death penalty for criminals, they want to curtail welfare waste, and are anti-illegal immigration. Not exactly proving his point, but is furthering his liberal agenda.

Furthermore, one being pro wealth distribution (another point for his argument) is not a good definition of compassion or caring for others. All it shows caring for (by those who support it) is getting reelected by bribing voters with someone else's wealth and the desire to gain power. The one thing the vast majority of liberals are NOT noted for is the giving of their own wealth (something most conservatives practice) to help the less fortunate.

As usual if you start with wrong premise you reach wrong conclusion.

GOD states:-
"Genesis 9:7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein."

"Evolution is declared to be absolute fact. Yet any attempt to critically evaluate evolution is suppressed swiftly. Many teachers fear losing their jobs if they criticize evolution or discuss creation with students. College professors avoid mentioning their concerns about evolution over fear of losing their jobs. Any attempt to teach children to think critically about evolutionary claims is usually met with a flurry of threats, lawsuits, and opposition.

It should be obvious that those who actively promote evolution as fact are the ones who wish to brainwash our youth. They seem to live in fear of children questioning evolutionary claims. Whereas Christians, like those at Answers in Genesis, are happy for children to learn about the evolutionists’ origins story; however, we couple that teaching with a refutation of their false worldview."

2. Early church history is replete with references to the fact that believers , and especially church leaders, were involved in orphan care....

“ The presbyters, for their part, must be compassionate, merciful to all, turning back those who have gone astray, visiting all the sick, not neglecting a widow, orp han, or poor person , but always aiming at what in honorable in the sight of God and of people ” (Polycarp, Philippians 6.1 , c. A . D . 110 )

""Having children is the most destructive thing a person can do to the environment""

God obviously disagrees.

"Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."

But then atheist science disagrees with all that God states and records in the Bible. Evolution, Global Warming and morals demonstrate the reprobates to be ignorant, blind and alienated from truth. Satan is the prince of this world and its deceptions in 'science'

"Educators and other “experts” who embrace evolution declare that children taught to reject an evolutionary worldview will never understand the world around them. Many say that such children will be academic failures. Children will grow up to be unproductive citizens of the modern world, these experts warn, if they do not accept molecules-to-man evolution over millions of years as fact.

Secularists often claim that children who reject evolution have been “brainwashed.” Is this really true?"

Here is a sad statics that the media in Europe is trying to cover up, as they don't want to ruffle up the feathers of the Muslim immigrants who are coming into foreign land, demanding the country to follow in step with Islam ways, of Sharia Law, Sweden now has the second highest rape problem in the world.

But when you devalue life as what is true for me, mayn't be your truth, of relativism. What do you expect when you sure-press the truth of Gods Word & try to deny Him, the key is try to deny Him; Rom 1:18-24 amen.

"Sweden is a pagan country, so unfortunately such reports are not unexpected" So, we just shrug this off because Sweden is 'pagan'? By the way, America is no better - the slaughtering of millions of babies since Roe vs Wade makes us just as pagan as Sweden, not to mention the idolatry that engulfs this nation, such as politics. You should know all about that.

Need Him - excellent comment
