Americans More Accepting of Immorality Than Ever Before, Gallup Finds
Gallup released the findings of their annual "Values and Beliefs" survey, which found that on many social issues Americans have the "most left-leaning" views to date.

On issues like divorce, same-sex relationships, having a child out of wedlock, and polygamy, Americans have either tied past record high support or broken the record for acceptance.

Record highs noted in their findings, which were released Thursday, include support for birth control (91 percent), divorce (73 percent), same-sex relationships (63 percent), and pornography (36 percent). ...

Troy,

You didn't watch the teaching video did you? Had you watched it you would have seen the text from Eph. 2:8 laid out in the original Greek grammatical construction proves you to be in error. You would have seen the phrase 'and that' is a neuter demonstrative pronoun and does not refer to any one particular thing prior to it. In the Greek language whenever you see a greek pronoun it has to agree in gender and in number with its antecedent. "That" has to agree with salvation, grace, and faith in gender and number. 'That' is neuter, it has no gender. Demonstrative means pointing to a particular thing. Faith is a feminine noun, so 'that' isn't pointing to faith. Grace is also feminine, and salvation is masculine and does not agree with 'and that'. None of those agree with 'and that'. The reason being this, whenever you find this kind of construction in Greek the writer did so on purpose, he wasn't pointing to any one particular word. Rather, he was pointing to the whole collective phrase prior. So, 'and that' is pointing back to 'faith, grace, salvation'. I highly recommend you watch the video - https://youtu.be/o3dodm97SY4

The elect respond because God gives them this gift of faith, along with opening up the understanding. All are 'dead in trespasses and sin'.

This is not correct, from Troy, "As I teach my son, faith is grown not given." Yes, our faith is tested and it does increase as a result of the trials we endure, but faith is a gift given by God, as Eph. 2:8-9 states, 'for by grace are ye saved, through faith, and THAT {referring back to grace, faith and salvation} not of yourselves, it is a gift of God not of works, lest any man boast'.
This teaching takes you into the original Greek grammatical construction of the text - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3dodm97SY4
Can the elect of God ever over-emphasize grace? It is God's grace that causes us to be in awe of what He has done, and to be ever so grateful for it.
Ladybug I am correct, faith is grown, not given. And you read into Eph2:9 because Eph 2:8 is clear of the process, God's Grace, then a human response of FAITH. Consider Hebrews 11 and many other passages that speak to the response of faith. Jesus said if we had faith the size of a mustard seed we could move mountains, also indicating it is grown not given. As for over emphasizing of grace, sure you can over-emphasize grace. They were doing that in Corinth and Paul wrote to them to say that indeed God' grace is greater then our sin but should they go on sinning? God forbid

Praise the Lord for the saving gift of marvelous grace, as I grow in my own understanding of how bad & how far I fall short of the standard of absolute perfection of no King but Christ alone. I stand in amazement, for if it weren't all of His saving grace alone heaven would have none. For how marvelous His grace is that would pardon & cleanse me, for none are worthy to be pardoned ever, for saving grace leads to humility for, I am doing better than I am deserving of amen.
Spurgeon: If the people do not like the doctrine of grace, give them all the more of it.
While it is good to have a proper perspective of ourselves in the flesh and in Christ, it is also important to understand that saving Grace is only applied by Faith. Also your comment that grace cleans you is not accurate. The blood of Christ cleans us. His Righteousness is imputed to us. As I teach my son, faith is grown not given. God'grace is given and not grown. Original topic of immorality in our country can only be dealt with by turning hearts and minds to Jesus Christ alone. Let's not confuse them by over emphasizing grace. While God's Grace is important, it is one element since we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Plus nothing.

Spurgeon- " A Sermon to open Neglecters and Nominal followers of religion"

"There are you, sinner, clinging to your sins or to your good works. The Savior cries, "Drop! drop into my arms!" It is not doing, it is leaving off doing. It is not working, it is trusting in that work which Jesus has already done. Trust! that is the word, simple, solid, hearty, earnest trust. Trust and it will not take an hour to save you, the moment you trust you are saved. "

It is a great gospel! Thanks for the quote from Spurgeon, whose own conversion was ratified under the preaching of a Methodist lay brother, the text being...

Isaiah 45:22
(22)  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Spurgeon- " A Sermon to open Neglecters and Nominal followers of religion"
Matt21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

"There are you, sinner, clinging to your sins or to your good works. The Savior cries, "Drop! drop into my arms!" It is not doing, it is leaving off doing. Remember that you have been saved so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in your body2 Cor4:10Direct the total energy of your powers so that you may achieve everything
your election as a child of God provides;
rise every time to whatever occasion may come your way.

You did not do anything to achieve your salvation, but you must do something to exhibit it.You must “work out your own salvation” which God has worked in you already Phil2:12Are your speech, your thinking,& your emotions evidence that you are working it “out”? If you are still the same miserable, grouchy person, set on having your own way, then it is a lie to say that God has saved & sanctified you.

God is the Master Designer&He allows adversities into your life to see if you can jump over them properly— “By my God I can leap over a wall” Ps 18:29God will never shield you from the requirements of being His son or daughter. 1stPe4:12 says, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you….” Rise to the occasion— do what the trial demands of you.It does not matter how much it hurts as long as it gives God the opportunity to manifest the life of Jesus in your body.
"that you may know what is the hope of His calling"
Eph1:18

""annual "Values and Beliefs" survey, which found that on many social issues Americans have the "most left-leaning" views to date.""

"left-leaning" - How Democrat!!

Liberalism is identified as the basis of "immorality" - Exactly true.

Lie Detector post below is an example of that Liberalist style of satanic thinking.

Liberalism is Satan's work in progress in todays western nations.

Immorality is the culture of todays generation and in a way that seems strange. Question: Why is this new generation so morally corrupt and anti-Christ in its politics, religion and philosophies?? (Prov 29:16)

Does the Lord allow Satan and sin to have more influence in todays generation than previously found?

"1John 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness."

1Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"

"Eph 2:2 according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"

I once listened to a sermon by Pastor Edward Donnelly in which he said that when someone first enters a smokey room, it bothers him. But the more that person stays in that smokey room the more things seem normal. I also once heard Pastor Joel Beeke say that there is nothing wrong with a boat floating on water. The problem is when the water begins to enter the boat. How true.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

The definition of God's grace is found in Titus 2: 11 and it has nothing to do with covering endless foul-ups because you mess up all the time and nobody can live up to God's high standard.
Ah. So you are living up to God's high standard?

In every aspect, every moment, never messing up, never sinning, always obedient to every word of God?

Perfect in every way, not needing God's mercy, God's forgiveness, no need of the blood of Christ to wash away your sins; no need to confess your sins to God. You're as perfect as Jesus was perfect.

Wow, that's amazing!

But alas, it is all a deception. The devil has hoodwinked you, and the Holy Ghost is leaving you to your deceptions.
