New Zealand law gives river human rights – but not unborn babies

A new law in New Zealand grants to a major river and all its tributaries the same legal status as a human being.

The New Zealand Parliament passed a law on Wednesday giving the Whanganui River, a 180-mile river located on New Zealand’s North Island, the same legal status as a human under New Zealand law. The designation is the first known time in history a river has been given the same status as a person under a nation’s laws.

According to a report by the BBC, the Maori, an indigenous people in New Zealand, have been pushing for the designation for more than a century. Chris Finlayson, the negotiations minister of the Treaty of Waitangi for New Zealand, made it clear the river will no longer “belong” to anyone. ...

I know people who get genuinely offended if you refer to their dog as a dog, or an animal, etc. They refer to it/them as their child/children. I can see if it were just in fun, but they see them as human, basically. I just saw a video of a husky and a baby laying on a living room floor. Ten of thousands of comments about how adorable it was that a dog was being allowed to lick a baby's mouth for several minutes. The most gross, unhealthy thing and people applaud it.
Anyway, this reminded me of the headline because this world is turning upside-down and topsy-turvy. What wrong is right, and everything that's right has taken a sharp left. What a time to be living in and witnessing it all.
Absolutely correct. Every time I see a dog licking someone's face I cringe because I know that is very unsanitary and unhealthy to permit a dog or any other animal to lick someone's face.

Romans 1 comes to mind here, where the people worship the creation rather than the Creator, and we can see the fearful result described in this chapter of Romans.

"Although New Zealand now feels compelled to grant human rights to non-living entities in the nation, the country allows women of any age to have an abortion"

In the UK we have laws to protect the egg (fetus) of wild birds. Breaking this law will provide a fine of 5000 pounds sterling, or six months in jail. So it is a recognised crime.

But if you kill an unborn human child in UK by state abortion practice, then it is not seen as crime merely the removal of an inconvenient life.

To stop a life or remove it you must kill. Abortion is murder by any definition.

Pharaoh worshipped the Nile & wanted to kill babies- godly women rebelled against man's law and were blessed.
Ex.1
"17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive."

And his own house disobeyed the intent of river worship & murder- "compassion" drew Moses out of death and rescued A Nation.
