Personal Edition of the Gospel of John -- Third Printing!
Attention all users!

We're excited to announce the third printing of the Gospel of John Personal Edition booklets! To date we have seen over 200,000 copies printed and sent out, and with this new printing of 150,000 there is no end in sight. These are a tremendous tool for personal or church outreach.

John states his purpose for writing this Gospel in John 20:31:

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

And it has been the testimony of a vast multitude down through the ages that this book above all others was that which brought men to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Perhaps no other portion of Holy Scripture has been used as mightily in the saving of mens souls as this Gospel.

Lowest possible cost. It is with this in mind that SermonAudio.com through our unique partnership with the Trinitarian Bible Society is making the booklets available to our audience at an incredibly low price of 15 cents per booklet. Anyone can order and we've made the ordering process, super-easy! Click here to order your copies today!

Designed for outreach! The booklets are attractively-printed and designed for outreach! The first page is intentionally left blank so you can write your own personal message or stick a label with your church's contact information. The 5x7" booklet is the perfect size and is printed with a full-color cover. The actual text layout is one of the best formats we've encountered in the KJV and lends itself to an easy-to-read style, broken up by paragraphs, not verses.

Ready-to-print church labels! You can easily print pre-formatted labels that you can use to stick to the inside front cover. Go to the ABOUT section of any broadcaster homepage and look for the "PRINT LABEL" button and help promote your own local church!

Philip Schaf the church historian said:

“The Gospel of John is the most original, the most important, the most influential book in all literature. . . . It is simple as a child and sublime as a seraph, gentle as a lamb and bold as as an eagle, deep as the sea, and high as the heavens.”

Get your copy of this precious treasure to share with your friends and neighbors today!

As was pointed out by me on other threads, ladybug probably the verses to use for your Jewish friends would be, Acts 13:15-42

The Roman Road has been used by various people, here is a commentary by Mike Gendron, Witnessing Effectively to Roman Catholics. so, those verses have been used by many people through the years, probably even by people who use the KJV?

You missed the point. Paul was addressing the nation Israel, you pulled those verses out of context, simplified the gospel and made it a method one can follow to be saved.

I prefer the KJV and no amount of endless links from you will change my mind, so don't bother trying. I am not interested in your drivel.

There are several reasons for making that presentation short, First it doesn't take that much time, Five minutes or less? If you're on a bus or somewhere else where there will be time constraints on the presentation, you want to get what is necessary presented. It is easy for children and adults with rote memories, to learn the essentials, and then the message can be presented by almost anyone. If the bare-bones is learned then you can add what is necessary to the presentation to make it more personalized from you. Hopefully, it will keep the presenter focused on what his only real task is, that is to present the Gospel, and not give a crushing attack on Evolution, which let's after a couple of hours you really nailed it and then the person who may still believe in Evolution what started the whole conversation in the first place

Also, you won't have to explain such names as "Esaias" The K.I.S.S. philosophy in presentation of the Gospel seems to work best for those who are successful at it.

Something to go along with the Gospel of John, from the Gospel of Luke. For your Lord's Day reflection on the Love of God in Christ, who alone is the fulfillment of the Law.

I was reminded in a most timely manner how great a love Christ has for his sheep. The Spirit of God was so kind and merciful to me a sinner this morning to remind me again of that which he showed me so long ago in Psalm 18:9-20 With what a great love has he loved me and O, that he would cause me to desire to live and walk in the light of it.

I commend for your instruction and edification:

the Action Bible

On pages 426 -428

Dynamic colors & Marvelous pencils.

And reading pages 524-650-the 4 gospels- after subjecting myself to Fox's ugly "killing Jesus", (by Bill "Ted Baxter" O'Reilley)I'd give this as a witnessing tool intro to biblical truths. (But only after giving a Gospel of John from Trinitarian society)
And the cost of the slick comic format book is 100 times more than these actual gospels.

But as a "Bible survey" the comic Bible is a bit like Ron Rhodes new 40 days thru the Bible study book.

Doesn't take long in comic format to summarise the Real Bible: this reminds me of summaries like Steven quickly running thru history in Acts 6:8-8:1

Jim Lincoln,

Your 'roman road' is a bit short. To keep the context, you need to include the rest of the chapter - Rom 10:14-21, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people." Paul was addressing the nation Israel.
The Lord sums up the Gospel in Mark 1:15; it's a command, not a choice Jim. There's no easy 'method'.

The Roman Road

Romans 3:10
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one."
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
For "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."---NASB

I should have pointed out that, yes, young folks can present the gospel, outside or in their church using the Roman Road.

For any preacher or theologian who loves God's Word to allow that Word to go on being misunderstood because of the veneration of an archaic, not-understood version of four centuries ago is inexcusable, and almost unconscionable."

I agree if one isn't going to do the above one should give them a reason to read the KJV, it will help them in their classes on Shakespeare for example. At least make it easier, for them, slightly interested adults, and people who have English as a second language to crack a KJV open. Anyway, the witnessing in Indonesia was interesting. Chick publications has been doing a good job on the Romish Church through cartoons, q.v., Camel's In The Tent--though this one is about Islam.

Saturnday update from Frigga's day news
8-year-old Jayde fell in love with CBN’s Superbook the very first time she saw it! She even asked her dad to buy her some episodes.

http://www1.cbn.com/great-things-happen-when-kids-love-superbook

“And we ended up buying three Superbooks: David and Goliath, Creation, and Let My People Go,” said Jayde.

She shared the new episodes with her cousins, and afterward had an idea.

“I asked my Mom and Dad if we can start a Bible study with Superbook with my friends,” Jayde told CBN.

“I thought, ‘Wow, maybe God wants to do something through her,’” added her dad Frank.

Frank gave his daughter only one condition for starting the group.

“I said that if she was going to start a group, then she wasn’t allowed to gather kids from church; it had to be kids from her school or the community.”

Jayde invited some kids from her school in Indonesia, and with help from her mom, got everything ready. Six girls came to the first meeting.

“Most of them don’t know Jesus,” said Jayde. “And they’re mostly Islam, Buddhists, and Hindus.”

17 girls witnessed to by an 8 yr old - thru cartoons!

So, the KJV is a marvel comic book? hmm, if was a chick tract that had pictures to make it more understandable. As it also pointed out Shakespeare's plays are more understandable because people can follow the action, on stage, and somewhat fill in the blanks.

People aren't going to bother understand Elizabethan gobbledygook. I would like to see SA's attempt at using the KJV Gospel of John to be as effective as possible. With a grammatical help, One needs --or may-- need help with Elizabethan English, which is used in the KJV, RV, ASV, and then indeed parts of the 1977 version of the NASB! So, see Thou, Thee, Thy and Thine . This is a shorter article and might be easier to use as a reference, Thou, Thee, and Archaic Grammar Something of further help from a church in Australia, for KJV users. Dictionary of Archaic and Unfamiliar Words in the KJV . This turns out to be a fair sized booklet this might be another aid, Thee and Thou and You and Me and Ye.

Elizabethan needs all the aids it can get!

J. M. Pressley wrote:
Thou was essentially extinct in standard English usage by the 1700s. One of the main reasons thou survives at all is Tyndale's translations of the Bible into English in the early sixteenth century. In his translations (for which he was condemned to die at the stake in 1536), Tyndale returned to the simpler convention of Old English, consistently using thou in singular usage and ye in plural usage. As Tyndale's work became the foundation for the King James version of the Bible in 1611, thou was preserved for posterity.

Ironically, however, the association of thou with Biblical verse and classical literature has completely reversed thou's original standing. Thou—when it is used at all—is now viewed as the language of solemn ceremony and formality, while our you is the more colloquial of the two terms. This only adds to the modern confusion over usage and intent in Shakespeare.

BM, what I know of the pastor, wife and friend, who just basically did this to the KJV " According to Engelbrite, it is a simple word-for-word update from the King James English. Care has been taken to change nothing doctrinally, but to simply update the spelling and vocabulary. The grammar has not been changed to avoid altering the doctrine." excerpt from, American King James Version So, no doubt almost all of the errors in the KJV are also replicated in this as well, and of course it uses the TR. How good of job he did I have no idea. Probably fairly good, considering he wasn't trying to really turn out a new version of the Bible, and a lot of it could be done with computer software automation.

First of all, one really has to decide if dumping Bible out is like tossing out your net or putting pearls before swine? I thoroughly expect that if this was even a readable text like the NIV (1984) or ESV, 95%+ would still be tossed out, but being in Elizabethan --without any helps to handle Elizabethan I expect to be 100% So, if even individuals are using this for evangelical work, they would want the people they give it to, to better understand it even months after they gave out the Gospel of John.

Demarcating liberalism:

By 312 AD when Constantine embraced the Christian faith, there were three Bible texts in circulation:

1. The TR of early Christianinty tracing back to the Syrian region which capital was Antioch. This was introduced into areas of Southern France, North Italy (Waldensians), and the Celtic Church in Scotland and Ireland since the second century.

2. The Eusebius-Origen-Jerome text from Palestine to which Constantine adhered. Tinted by Origen’s allegory interpretation of Scriptures, and his Neo-Platonist and Gnostic tendencies, this text gave way to the Vulgate which the RC Church later imposed in every land they “Christianized’

3. The Egyptian Text or Hesychian, later known as Alexandrian text

Distinctively Lachman, Tischendorf, Tregelles, and Hort opposed the TR constituting the modern counterpart of the early liberalism of the first three centuries.

“Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets ... your fathers killed ...
Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers:
for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.” Lk 11;47-48

1st Corinthians 14:7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise you, except you utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for you shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks shall be a barbarian to me.---American King James Version

it certainly isn't a liberal version unless you consider everything liberal that isn't in Elizabethan.
