Texas School District Duct Tapes Over Plaques Glorifying God

A public school district in Texas has covered two dedication plaques that referenced God with duct tape after a prominent atheist activist organization asserted that the displays did not belong on school property.

The Midlothian Independent School District has confirmed that a plaque has been covered at Mountain Peak Elementary School and Longbranch Elementary School due to the complaint.

“Dedicated in the year of our Lord 1997 to the education of God’s children and their faithful teachers in the name of the Holy Christian Church,” the dedication plaques read. “Soli Deo Gloria.” ...

Most public school districts will cave because ; they do not want the financial burden of defending a law suit , they have no understanding of civics or the United States constitution, and they simply want to come along to get along . Or perhaps, they agree with the "freedom from religion" argument. Just look to the totalitarian policies of most universities against people of Christian faith. Totalitarism is birthed in academia when a nation has lost it's values.

Hi Abel, I have to say that besides your comment having very poor grammatical construction, telling people to shut up and calling them " babes", certainly was no example that I would expect from another Christian who felt exaulted enough to judge and condemn. I read through the comments and yours is nonscensical. That means it makes no scense in case you're wondering, because nobody was criticizing anything. This is a forum, not a simple news feed...it's interactive for a reason. So, a lot of people don't like Christianity because they criticize every little thing? You mean things like sin?

Just read the article and shut up and stop crying about everything. This is why I a lot of people don't like Christianity, too many criticize every single little thing. Just read the article And stop being such babes.

When they succeed in duck taping our mouths and lives then yes they would have won they battle. But America still needs to hear the truth and watch it lived out. Bonhoeffer faced a similar struggle, we know what his choice was as well as the consequences of that choice.

Is the Freedom from Religion Foundation trying to erase any semblance of "one nation under God," and refusing children to know the Biblical history and influence of the USA? I believe it is a probability they are using their influence and wealth over the courts to bully those who lack the financial backing to defend their businesses or schools in the judicial system.

"They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth. [...] They say, 'How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?'”

~ Psalm 73:9, 11 NASB

"Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?"

"But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well;"

~ James 2:6-8 NKJV

" they can't duck tape our mouths or our lives."

Wrong, they can and they already are, escape Babylon while you still can, the last exodus in the history of the world has begun.

Why would that Texas school district be afraid of that stupid atheist group? I sure would not be afraid of that stupid atheist group. I would tell that stupid atheist group to mind their own business.

Agree Christopherooo. Hey! If they insist on seeing the wrath of The Almighty, let em. I'm not sure if that's right or not for me to say that but it's too obvious people want wrath.

How have such relatively small groups risen to such enormous strength? They have taken control of the legal system, and seem to have this country running scared. Boy, how far this country has fallen in such a short span of time. The sodomites are skipping around out in the open with their rainbow streamers as they throw glitter, and tell the children it's not a choice, and the athiests are successfully assaulting, mocking, and erasing God from the minds of the next generation. Quite a thing to see.

It's not wise to try to duct tape the Almighty God.
