Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown, says source
Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

According to the well-placed source, Wilson was coming off another case in the neighborhood on Aug. 9 when he ordered Michael Brown and his friend Dorain Johnson to stop walking in the middle of the road because they were obstructing traffic. However, the confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, the source said.. ...

the press would rather instigate racial tensions than put out accurate reporting.

there is video of the gentleman punching at another customer as they were robbing, for instance.

then true cases of brutality, such as that homeless man who was shot point blank in Albuq are not reported.

I'm beginning to wonder if the press might be rated lower in popularity than congress.

Yes, there are real bad, above the law cops out there, Lisa, for sure, but that's to be expected as mere humans...oath or no oath. No excuses, but there is definately a lot of pollution within law enforcement agencies as power and access corrupts.
just a few days ago the local new brought out the cops side of it where it was said he was beaten hard right before. They also showed pictures of his beaten head and facial lacerations. I haven't seen them since then though.
like Jim, I wonder why a taser wasn't used though and that seems like an awful lot of shots to at least disable a person. I think about a man who was supposedly just beaten, a man whose adrenaline is on high alert, and whose alleged attacker is coming back for more. But...we'll see how this all pans out once the real facts are exposed.

Jim...
I think a taser would have been a lot safer than bullets. Maybe the cop cars all need some megaphones on them so the police don't need to roll down their windows to talk to people.

Ecclesiastes 7:25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:

Ecclesiastes 7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

I heard on the local St. Louis news that this report was incorrect. The officer did have facial injuries, but supposedly not to the extent this article reports. Hopefully we'll hear more facts soon as the Grand Jury has been formed and is investigating the Michael Brown shooting.

One shouldnt make sweeping statements.
Perhaps we should wait until more of the story and facts come out before we jump to conclusions.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Romans 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Lisa, I'm sorry to hear that you're police force isn't sweet and cuddly. It does appear that the police should not only have cameras but also should be armed with tasers, which some of our bleeding heart liberals find too powerful, q.v.,http://www.1011now.com/centralnebraska/home/headlines/Police-Discuss-the-Use-of-Tasers-Following-Kearney-High-Incident-231223891.html, but especially, http://www.1011now.com/home/headlines/Report-Stun-Guns-Misused-by-Nebraska-Officers-271854631.html (ACLU Questions the Use of Tasers by Nebraska Law Enforcement) The original t.v. report had the ACLU saying the student at Kearney was 10 years old, but he was 14. This was not even made clear in the follow-up.

I think any thinking person left or right in politics, no better than to lip off to the police, but should always be courteous. Police are human, (http://article.wn.com/view/2014/08/21/Missouri_cop_suspended_after_threatening)[/URL

Yes ... I too enjoyed Mohler's comments. He identified a problem with our "leaders". They say too much on the front end of a situation (facts not known) and far too little on the back end (facts known).

Thanks for your comment, Michael. I think most here feel the same way. The racism card and game that is being played today to place blame for every little thing is disgusting. The random pockets of haters and racist talking heads are the ones who have made it their lifes mission to incite violence and spread hatred. Unfortunately, those who follow their foul way of thinking are unable to think for themselves or have been damaged with this hatred, being raised up in it since childhood.
I don't understand racism or hatred and wonder how anyone can be capable of hating another based solely upon the amount of melatonin in their bodys. Racism makes no sense, and if it is not to be tolerated from one color, it should not be tolerated from another, yet we see something going on today that is very lopsided and unsettling. Similar to someone accusing everyone else of being a thief, while everyone who is not a thief knows the person doing the accusing is the real thief...yet he accuses. Doesn't make sense.

I'm an African American male and I have to say that while I think it's extremely sad and I empathize with the Brown family I am not one who condones the violent protesting that's going on at night in Ferguson. If you heard Al Mohlers The Briefing today I take his perspective on the matter. I think we have to love our neighbors and while doing that wait for the facts. This changes the game some in that it's letting us know more about the altercation that occurred before the fatal shots were fired. I'm praying for justice. Justice for Brown and for Wilson. If Wilson was in his legal rights to defend himself and justice finds him innocent we have to accept that. Also, I feel that the Church needs to really step up and be ministers of reconciliation and remember the truth in Acts 17:26 (I know the context for Paul's argument is different) that God from one man made every nation of mankind..I believe that if we have a biblical worldview in this issue we can help bring some kind of peace to the people looking for justice.
