Dove-Award winning artist Michael Gungor needs to apologize for his blogposts criticizing theologians for believing in the literal interpretation of the book of Genesis and its account of Noah's Ark, creationist Ken Ham told Baptist Press.
Gungor's recent statements are particularly damaging because they may mislead youth and discourage them from accepting the Gospel of salvation, said Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.
"Jesus referred to Noah's day and Noah as a real person. So then he's calling Jesus a liar, because if Genesis is not true, if it's just a myth, if it's not true, then Jesus is a liar, because Jesus quoted about the flood," Ham said, "and Peter is a liar, and Paul is a liar, because they all quoted Genesis."...
Free, glad that you are. And,of course, we know that whom the Son sets free, is free indeed. I know of many who are caught up in CCM. Sadly, many of them tend to cling tightly to worldly things. I was looking up some of Gungor's songs. One is god our mother- it tries to be inclusive when describing God by making Him neither masculine or feminine. And Gungor also is a proponent of Rob Bell. I wouldn't judge Gungor's heart but I do see where he strays from the straight and narrow and seems to have wound up on the broad path. Given his theology, his rejection of many literal biblical accounts is consistent. Of course, we would hope that he and his family gain clearer insight...hope that someone like Ken Ham may be instrumental in that regard.
I believe there is a probability the devil attacks sexuality and distorts it, because of the functionality of reproduction (each producing after its own kind) which proves that we, the earth, and all which dwells therein was/is made by intelligent design.
Scott wrote: "No person rejects the Gospel due to evolutionary supposition s and/or a 20,000 year old earth." So...a Christian can reject some parts of God's Word while accepting others? It's conceivable that a Christian who is ignorant or unlearned or who is still on the milk of the word could be saved but it counters reason if one is saved and rejects God's word. One cannot reject what the Bible says and at the same time believe in the One whom the Bible speaks. Further, one cannot believe in evolution and the account of Adam and Eve and the origin of sin. Death and dying before Adam and Eve isn't plausible.
John for JESUS wrote: I hope if Gungor takes Ham up on his offer to come see the museum that Ham won't really give him the star treatment and pay for his room and board while granting him total access to the staff. It would only be fair if Ham does that for everybody.
I was initially thinking the same thing, then I remembered the prodigal son and how his father had his servants bring the best robe to clothe his son; a ring to put on his finger; sandals for his feet; and had veal served at a party for him with music and dancing. If Mr. Gungor is willing to open his heart to the whole truth, maybe we should be happy that he gets 'the prodigal son returns' treatment?
I just read the blog post of this Gungor guy ( http://gungormusic.com/2014/08/im-with-you/ ). Utter rubbish if you ask me! Do we believe that GOD is the actual author behind the entire Bible or not? If so, of course Genesis is believable fact!
If everything has to have so-called scientific backing, then I wonder who he's truly basing his faith on? GOD or man??
It's crazy that people still believe in Darwinism in this day and age. I hope if Gungor takes Ham up on his offer to come see the museum that Ham won't really give him the star treatment and pay for his room and board while granting him total access to the staff. It would only be fair if Ham does that for everybody.
