Thousands Expected at Assemblies of God 100th Anniversary Celebration
Thousands of attendees are expected to attend the Assemblies of God 100th anniversary celebration in Springfield, Missouri, this week, including several international dignitaries. AG is one of the world's fastest-growing Protestant movements and the largest Pentecostal denomination.
"It's a great celebration of our church which is bringing in delegates from all over the world and all across America," says Dr. George Wood, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, as reported by Ozarks First. "There is a strong focus on evangelism - sharing the good word of Jesus Christ with those who don't know him."...
Now, I see you want to rile me up a little, to get a response about this?
John MacArthur wrote: Apparently, these people, while being "Dear Brothers and Sisters," are not dear enough to deserve to be taught the truth. Does real Christian love leave them in a spiritually debilitating error, thus out of God's will and out of the place of blessing, misrepresenting God's sacred truth? Is that love that calls us to do that? But this is the kind of thinking that pervades the Church. In effect, it has given Charismatic extremists the freedom to propound fantastic views while imposing a code of silence on all who object.

Booker You probably don't appreciate this but first true Christians are only those genuinely born again of the Holy Spirit
and I believe it is safe to say by the sovereign grace of God I am a whole lot further away from the heresies of Roman Catholicism than your "true Calvinists"
Seriously here, if you are able, you apparently call yourself or align yourself with Calvinists, so and it a big so, do you mourn and weap over those who have Calvinism and even a whole heap of Calvinism and yet have somehow missed coming to actually know and belong to God in the new birth? If you don't there just might be something wrong with your faith.

Jim Although in the mess of today's "churches" there is an overlap of Pentecostals and Charismatics the two are not literally or technically the same, and yes, indeed some are NOT Christian, only pretenders, btw the same could be said of some "Calvinists" (also using the NASB likewise doesn't automatically make one a Christian either).
And if I may let me encourage you to cease from labeling the two as both being (as if completely) non-Christian, for this reason, we have repeated testimonies of people coming to salvation in Pentecostal churches (even David Cloud an Independant Fundamental Bapstist with sermons here on SermonAudio testifies to being led to salvation by a Pentecostal man) and/or being part of even the Pentecostal OR Charismatic Movements AND COMING OUT FROM AMONG THEM
So how about let's do this Weap! and mourn over the garbage that Pentecostals have gotten themselves mixed up and defiled in and ask God to lead them out of all that mess
Hmmm??? It might be good as well to pray the same kind of thing for ourselves.
if you have read the article John or short blurb above, or even the article in Wikipedia about them, an excerpt of, The Assemblies of God (AG), officially the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, is a group of over 140 autonomous but loosely associated national groupings of churches which together form the world's largest Pentecostal denomination.". you would have seen the term Pentecostal. This means Charismatic. this means not being Christian. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/char/35.htm (The Charismatic Movement--35 Doctrinal Issues)
The Assemblies of God Church is not a Charismatic church but is an Evangelical Protestant Church that preaches the true Gospel that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as ones Savior and trust in Him alone for salvation.
