Religious leaders blame Ebola on ‘homosexualism’

The Ebola pandemic — which has killed 887 in West Africa including 255 in Liberia — has terrified people so much that some local leaders discern divine meaning in it. According to Front Page Africa and the Daily Observer, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf called on Tuesday for all residents to fast for three days and pray for forgiveness.

“Relying on His divine guidance for our survival as a nation,” she announced, “I call on all Liberians to observe three days of national fast and prayer to seek God’s face to have mercy on us and forgive our sins and heal our land, Liberia, as we continue to fight against the deadly Ebola virus.”

That followed a recent recommendation by the Liberian Council of Churches, which said in a statement last week the outbreak has Biblical implications. “God is angry with Liberia,” the religious leaders said, according to the Daily Observer. “Ebola is a plague. Liberians ...

You're likely right, GS, or at least to divert away from the administration in general, as well as the media propensity to make the news that "fits." It is election year, after all. You've probably noticed, we get "we're all gonna die if we don't listen to the experts" preached at us quite often. Exaggeration is used when fear is necessary. Fear is used to create conformist minds.

Where are these epidemic threats to the public health now?: Swine Flu, (as pennned pointed out) Legionaires disease, Sars, E.Coli, Bird Flu, Mad Cow disease, etc.

Not to diminish Ebola, which is horrible, but when Malaria kills more Africans *every day* all year round, than Ebola has killed since this latest bout started, we have to ask, why the coverage, and the ho-hum non-coverage of Malaria? Can't be about the disease then, can it?

Perhaps the problem comes from them eating their uncles? you know like monkeys. Well, to get off the Darwinian kick, a few diseases have been linked to bush meat, http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/08/05/why-west-africans-keep-hunting-and-eating-bush-meat-despite-ebola-concerns/?tid=hp_mm (Why West Africans keep hunting and eating bush meat despite Ebola concerns). So, their diet needs to be changed but it is a unhealthy climate to begin with in that part of the world. clean water and clean food of course is important in any part of the world, but there especially.

More people die in Africa from mosquito bite dysentery/malaria than ebola. This is fear mongering. Someone posted that homosexual-ism IS the wrath or judgment of God. That is biblical truth plain and simple. Ebola is indicative of the fallenness of man. May our Lord grant them a reprieve and heal their spiritual deadness.

May the Lord hear their prayers and heal their land. I think if God wills I will join them in their fast and prayers.

of course they are!

why would they continue the line of questioning regarding what was being tested in Kenema Laboratory and who is funding it?

Most outbreaks I can remember have come from laboratories.

When a scientist jokes around in a symposium that the way to deal with overpopulation, well, we need a bioweaponized ebola, ha, ha, ha.... and he happens to be in charge of research, questions should be asked.

no, we'll go back to the old storyline, the Africans, morally inferior people that need the gates and soros campaigns to medically save them?

gates announces that his purpose of his campaigns is depopulation, and of course we translate that in our minds that its because of great progress that there will be less children?? they also bring gm grains to the continent while advanced countries are rejecting our grains because they consider it dangerous to the health of their people. we find out ebola is already patented here, the sick animals have already been infected, their infection then transplanted to genetically modified tobacco, where its being grown in mass in Kentucky for "serum", which begs the question, is Monsontoe involved as well in this?

yuck! agent orange, bovine hormones and aspartame aren't enough for us? give me more.

Thanett, I agree with the word of God. The verses you posted show us how sodomy is God's judgement on any nation.

Homosexualism is from the wrath of God not ebola.

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,

Don't worry, Cleve, it's most likely on its way here. I fear for America because of pride, selfishness, violence and most horrifically the perversion that has been accepted all over our land. God is angry with the wicked every day and our cup is almost full I'm afraid.

The Ebola pandemic is essentially affecteing parts of Africa. On the other hand, homosexual ism is considered normal in other regions of the world. Would God punish only the African countries for that particular sin and not the others?
