Liberals Now Deeply Divided Over Religious Freedom and Homosexuality
Should those who disagree with liberal views on homosexuality have the freedom to express and live according to those beliefs in civil society? Liberals are now deeply divided over this question.

This split was seen most recently over a debate about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and the Supreme Court's decision in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby.

ENDA, a bill that would prevent workplace discrimination based upon sexual preference and gender identity, passed the U.S. Senate last year. Speaker of the House John Boehner has said the House will not vote on the measure. President Barack Obama recently announced that he will issue an ENDA-type executive order that would only apply to employers with government contracts.

Liberals are divided on whether ENDA, the Senate bill or the executive order, should include an exemption for religious groups. ...

This is one of the sad effects of members of the Romish Church entering politics, they pick up the authoritarian ways of their church. a saying translated from French "The ends touch," which means they are almost always extremely liberal or conservative. They think they have the right answer to politics, much like they learned that their church is always right in religion. There is no happy medium for either ultra left or right Catholic. Catholic Church and politics in the United States. Of course there's always the danger of The Perils of Popery.

As the article I put up shows, Liberals may not be divided on the matter. Also except for the fact that The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin, I think recognizing queers would be a great idea in Govt. contracts It would force the greedy religious organizations to get their hands out of the public's pockets. Far better of course is for the Faith-based Initiative of Baby Face Bush be done away with entirely.

Separation of Church and State is biblical and Protestant. A denial of Christ's Lordship over the state is not biblical. It is satanic. Kings must kiss the Son lest He be made angry.

The article makes the point that church and Christians are declining from within society thus homosexuality is having more freedom within the community.

The homosexuals don't care about the older generation and its Biblical moral position because the young generation - the future - is less Biblical about the acceptance of the sodomite. Thus Sodom and Gomorrah grows in society with less and less hindrance to its existence. No church - no problem.

And of course the politicians and bureaucrats in western governments and organisations like UN and EU are all morally corrupt and Liberal.

I should have mentioned this is from a liberal source, and I don't agree with everything that it says, but then the thread was about liberals. It's an interesting read.

I am neither a liberal or am I divided on the question of faith based initiatives. The church and the state should be separate. It was one of the most obnoxious ideas that the last Bush president had. http://www.theocracywatch.org/faith_base.htmhtm (Faith-Based Initiative).
