Judge rips apart Kentucky's gay marriage argument

In striking down Kentucky's ban on gay marriage, a federal judge Tuesday rejected Gov. Steve Beshear's argument that the ban is needed because only opposite sex couples can procreate and maintain the state's birth rate and economy.

"These arguments are not those of serious people," wrote Senior U.S. District Court Judge John G. Heyburn II.

"Even assuming the state has a legitimate interest in promoting procreation," Heyburn wrote in a 19-page opinion, its lawyers never explained how the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage has "any effect whatsoever on procreation among heterosexual spouses.'' ...

This judge claims that the arguments of those who defend preserving our marriage laws intact "are not those of serious people"because they fail to show how the exclusion of same-sex couples has "any effect whatsoever on procreation among heterosexual spouses." Two things wrong with that statement. First, homosexuals are not being "excluded from marriage" but from this judge's redefinition of marriage as "the union of any two consenting adults." Liberals and conservatives aren't even talking about the same institution; they aren't defining it in the same way at all. Homosexuals are free to marry-- join in a union with someone of the opposite sex-- they just don't want to. Second, legalizing same-sex marriage does not affect heterosexuals' procreative activities, but it does affect the culture. By 'normalizing' what is abnormal, you will engender through the public school system lies, misinformation, and gender confusion in some young people who are insecure in their developing sexuality. Some may be recruited into a lifestyle that they might shun or avoid if the proper societal barriers were in place to discourage perversion. That the sex-drive can become perverted is clear from Sodom, a town where all the men, young and old, had given themselves over to this perversion.

Bill, which one there are so many of them. We have had an excellent commenter from Kentucky (Sorry about not remembering your first name, I really have a time with names, ) So, he might give us the lay of the land locally. There's no God's party, they all are working out God's plan, but they no doubt most politicians will end up at the Great White Throne Judgement, q.v., Distinctions Between Judgments Remember,

Matthew 20
25 But Jesus called them to Himself, and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.
26 "It is not so among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,
27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave;
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."---NASB

Alost all politicians fall under the "Gentile," description.

Another godless government official who needs to be removed from office by impeachment. I pray he repents, but I doubt he will, so I give him over to God's judgment.

John Y., the governor thinks that the federal government has a say in this. I am surprised that Nebraska's constitutional has not been challenged. Personally I think it is on the rights of states to determine marriage laws. I think the argument in my first to articles of my previous message cover is this question of queer unions. anyway what the Kentucky governor said, can be found in this article. http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2014/07/02/beshear-defends-birthrate-argument-gay-marriage/12089981/

That stupid judge really is mentally disturbed not only for believing that fruitcakeness is not an abomination but also for believing that Federal Judges have the right to interfere in state laws.

One excellent reason there is only so much money to go around, and spending it on counter-productive behavior is stupid.
