The former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Williams has disclosed that he spends up to 40 minutes a day squatting and repeating an Eastern Orthodox prayer while performing breathing exercises as part of a routine influenced by Buddhism.
He also spends time pacing slowly and repeatedly prostrating himself as part of an intense early morning ritual of silent meditation and prayer.
The normally private former Archbishop has given a glimpse of his personal devotions in an article for the New Statesman explaining the power of religious ritual in an increasingly secular world....
Acts 8 8:9Â But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 8:10Â To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 8:11Â And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

No Christian needs to be told that Liberals are not real Christians and are definitely not Biblical Christians.
The Anglican church I read once had a powerful influence of the influx of "flower power hippies" in the 1960/70's. Pot smoking hippies with ultra Liberal ideologies found their way into denominations such as the Anglican and Episcopalians. So no big surprise that Rowan Williams pushes the Bible aside for mans atheist religions ideas. They are a bit like the Roman Catholics who need to touch, feel and see their gods. The hippy style Anglicans need to "sense" their religion by bodily actions.
