Judge Rules Against Christian Teacher Who Displayed Bible Verses in Classroom

A magistrate judge has ruled that a New York public school's removal of Christian items from a science teacher's classroom was legal. The teacher, Joelle Silver, had multiple Bible verses on display, as well as a painting that included three crosses on a hill, and a prayer request box on her desk that was placed there by the school's Bible Study Club, which she served as a faculty monitor.

The decision given Tuesday by a judge with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York dismissed part of the motion given by the Christian teacher.

Judge Leslie G. Foschio argued that Silver's lawsuit against Cheektowaga Central School District, its Superintendent Dennis Kane and its Board of Education President Brian J. Gould could not proceed on the basis of her rights being violated when they removed the Christian items. ...

Chris, just an excellent comment. If John Y. had read the URL that I posted told of a person who didn't give that much attention to what the Mass actually means as James McCartney said--an expert on Catholicism-- "I’m not making this up, Anthony,” I told him. “Next Sunday sit near the front of the church and listen carefully to the words of the priest. You’ll see for yourself. According to your Church, in some mystical way the cross transcends time and is made present by the liturgy of the Eucharist. I know this doesn’t make a lot of sense, but Catholicism teaches that the Mass is one and the same as the sacrifice of Calvary.”

Is the Mass the Real Sacrifice of Christ?

So, I hope that John Y. reads this and your comments, Chris

Hi John...the wafer; the host, via the first step in transubstantiation, is worshipped and easily proven. The Roman church states the the priest, using his special powers that can never be recinded, can literally pull Christ out from Heaven up to 200,000 times a day and send Him into the wafer. The number might be 500,000, I can't remember. Around the world, the wafer is then gaurded around the clock by nuns, prayed to, worshipped, and adored as it lays in its golden box. The wafer is regarded so highly, and indeed worshipped, because the wafer, by the priests power, contains Christ Himself, and is Christ after being pulled from Heaven.
Sound crazy? Do some research and you will see that I've told you plainly. I would look everything up for you myself so you could read the churches own writings on the subject, but I don't think you would do your due diligence or be interested. The church is filled with fatally false doctrines such as these that you don't have yo dig.too deep for.

it will be interesting to see how this controversy with the teacher will finally turn out. The problem of course is that she is in an area where Christianity is not so widely supported. Anyway I hope that sermon audio follows: this case.

it should be pointed out in cases like these, this is good advice:

2nd Timothy 2: 24 The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, 25 in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

John Y., read this article! apparently a lot of Catholics sleep through their mass, except to be awake to take the poison pill call the wafer. http://www.jashow.org/wiki/index.php?title=Is_the_Mass_the_Real_Sacrifice_of_Christ%3f. follow the advice given in this article and sit up front of this carney show called the Mass. by the way I never remembered that I have her put up this article? Shame on me!

Quite right ladybug.

John Y,

Here is the 'fruit' of the leader of your dead religion - http://news.yahoo.com/pop-icon-elton-john-calls-po..

From the article, this is what Elton John says about the Pope, the head of your church -
"He's excited me so much by his humanity and taking everything down to the humility of faith...it's all basically about love and taking everybody in inclusiveness," John told Sky News.

There are two kinds of 'faith', a true, saving faith, and a false faith, like the kind the Roman Catholic church teaches and adheres to. This false faith the world will embrace; true saving faith is the kind that speaks out against sin, like the sin of homosexuality. The Pope is like his father, the devil, who is a liar.

You should've listened to Gil Rugh's sermon this morning. rather than attending that "black" Mass you go to. The Mass: Miracle or Mendacity?
No the RCC Does not teach the doctrine of "the wafer-god". Nowhere in the teachings of the RCC does it state that the RCC believes the bread and wine are gods. Luther was not even insane enough to believe that the RCC believes the bread and wine are gods. I was not taught in religious education class in elementary school after school that the RCC believes the bread and wine are gods. My parents did not believe that the bread and wine are gods.

What is this nonsense with "the wafer-god"? The RCC does not teach that the bread and the wine are gods. And why would I refrain from receiving the bread and the cup of wine during Mass? I never receive the bread from the priest. I receive both the bread and the cup of wine from lay persons. When I am handed the bread I don't say "Amen" and when I am handed the cup of wine I don't say "Amen" as that would be acknowledging the Catholic doctrine of Holy Communion. When I receive the bread and the cup of wine I believe it to be like the Lutheran Church teaches about Holy Communion and not what the Catholic Church teaches about Holy Communion.

There is little or no chance of Christians getting justice in the western nations nowadays.

Satan holds the reigns of the nations politicians and bureaucrats which includes their judges and those who run the authoritative institutions.

Even the national establishment churches are proving to belong to Satan and their motto is "Ditch the Bible - Keep the sin."

Sadly Steve, you come out with a lot of tripe concerning The Mass. Simply, it is NOT TRUE. It is an imagination of man to take captive people.

For example, I am perfectly capable of pouring wine into a cup and giving it to others saying, "This represents the blood of Christ through which you are cleansed from sin. It is not the actual blood of Christ, but it helps us to remember that he shed his blood for our sins. Similarly with the bread which, incidentally, should be ONE LOAF, not manufactured little wafers or cut little pieces of bread.

But hey, if you don't believe in the priesthood of all believers......

Birds of a feather flock together, so the saying goes. And if you attend a Catholic church and plan to teach your children the Catholic catechism, then you are either a hypocrite or an idiot. Which?
p.s. If you are an idiot, please say so, and I will pray for your healing. The Lord bless you.

What is this nonsense that I am a hypocrite? I am not a hypocrite because I reject and repudiate the unscriptural Catholic doctrines and the unscriptural parts to the Mass and I adhere only to the scriptural Catholic doctrines and I only participate in the scriptural parts to the Mass. Therefore I am not a hypocrite. The judge in this article is stupid and is under the guidance of Satan for being intolerant of Christiantity by telling that science teacher to remove those Christian symbols from the classroom. If an Islamic teacher had Islamic symbols in the classroom that stupid judge would not have told the Islamic teacher to remove the Islamic symbols from the classroom as liberals are for Islam and against Christianity.

When I was in grade one and two in public school the Bible was read everyday - and then again when I was in grade seven the Bible was read everyday in the morning - in those days it was the teacher's discretion whether to read the Bible to the class or not. I like the personal touch of the Prayer Request Box on the teacher's desk, and think I would have liked that when I was in elementary school - God bless!

Amen, Mike!

Blind obedience to civil magistrates is NOT taught in the Bible! This teacher had done nothing wrong. This judge obviously doesn't know the Constitution or God's Word.

So you agree the judge's ruling fits into the "for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil" scenario. Unfortunately, this position requires that the posting of Bible verses is doing evil, but what the heck, calling good evil and evil good is popular these days.
