As it turns out, a number of SWAT teams in the Bay State are operated by what are called law enforcement councils, or LECs. We are in a world of hurt when Mayberry Police receive a grant from DHS. It will be terrible when Barney Fife and Andy are dressed in black fatigues and tactical gear, driving around in an armored personnel carrier, going after Floyd the barber and Otis.

". . . According to the ACLU, the LECs are claiming that the 501(c)(3) status means that they’re private corporations, not government agencies. And therefore, they say they’re immune from open records requests. "

Isn't this how the Nazi's began their activity separate from the government? Then, they became the government.
