The Economist accuses Pope Francis of ‘following Lenin’
But the interview's real bombshell comes when he speaks of the global economic crisis and its causes. After denouncing the "atrocity" of youth unemployment, he observed that: "We are discarding an entire generation to maintain an economic system that can't hold up any more, a system that to survive, must make war, as all great empires have done. But as a third world war can't be waged, they make regional wars...they produce and sell weapons, and with this, the balance sheets of the idolatrous economies, the great world economies that sacrifice man at the feet of the idol of money, are resolved..."

By positing a link between capitalism and war, he seems to be taking an ultra-radical line: one that consciously or unconsciously follows Vladimir Lenin in his diagnosis of capitalism and imperialism as the main reason why world war broke out a century ago. And there are plenty of counter-arguments one ...

You're almost right Jim, the establishment ruling class types are disgusting. The old GOP stood for something other than the status quo, somewhat similar to what the tea party movement is doing now. But the establishment GOP has become the loyal non-opposition, thus they are actually the New GOP. They, like the Democrats, care only about their power. Isn't that why you like about them? Funny you and other libs think the best way to run the country is to have two parties of the same low mentality.

Jim,
Your link to the story comparing the Tea Party to the promoters of slavery is ludicrous and its author seems to be totally ignorant of history. It was the Democrats who were the party of slavery. It was the Democrats who resisted the civil rights legislation of the 60's. And it's the Democrats who today continue to keep blacks on the plantation of big government dependancy.

In contrast, its the Tea Party that represents a return to the Constitutionally-limited republican form of federal government set up by the founding fathers. Your constant attack on the Tea Party's ideals and the "politics of the New GOP" is nothing more than misguided partisan sniping in light of the fact that you still refuse to acknowledge the numerous crimes of the current Impostor from Kenya aka the Occupier, a liar and demogogue of the worst sort.

One should remember the latest Pope is a Jesuit Why Care About the Jesuits? because they influence both political parties in this country, however at the moment the GOP is the one most closely tied to the Romish Church operatives, The Christian Right Movement. Unfortunately the wealthy GOPers are not divorced from the tea-party types, read the transcript for Shields & Brooks commentary for last Friday, q.v., ...how incumbents held their ground against the tea party in last Tuesday’s primaries,..., anyway, The South Has Indeed Risen Again and It’s Called the Tea Party.

But for the previous poster, there are certainly some very rich people supporting the Democrats also--and I'll agree some are just as unlikeable as the Koch brothers, but I was once a Northern Republican, so I find the politics of the New GOP particularly distasteful.

The “humble pope francis” subscribes to accumulating wealth by any and all means when his “church” profits, including but not limited to investing in financial markets!'
From the book "The Vatican Billions" by Avro Manhattan, 1983
"The Vatican has large investments with the Rothschilds of Britain, France and America, with the Hambros Bank, with the Credit Suisse in London and Zurich. In the United States it has large investments with the Morgan Bank, the Chase-Manhattan Bank, the First National Bank of New York, the Bankers Trust Company, and others. The Vatican has billions of shares in the most powerful international corporations such as Gulf Oil, Shell, General Motors, Bethlehem Steel, General Electric, International Business Machines, T.W.A., etc. At a conservative estimate, these amount to more than 500 million dollars in the U.S.A. alone.

Strat, when did I ever say the Democrats were perfect. You're faith in man while somewhat entertaining is ultimately sad. Man is note what a Christian puts his faith except the God-Man

It seems these verses cover numerous politicians of various persuasions, very well.

1 Corinthians 6
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB

I just point out that the GOP has become as much of Satan's party as the Democratic one is. The Believer and Politics.

You have become the boards comic relief in terms of political and ideological hypocrisy, sure there is republican corruption...and there is just as much democrat corruption, democrat corruption comes with free stuff when you don't want to work and think everybody owes you a living and special rights...you have become the poster with no clothes because you think no one else knows or can see the naked partisanship and bias you so proudly display in despite the facts we see everyday...put some clothes on Jim.....so you can...."cover it"

Your definition of "greedy" is anyone who does not surrender anything the left demands of them.how greedy are those who lust after what they have not earned ?lets add theft and covetousness to greed and that will cover it.

Now don't be offended, Jim. I was just laughing at your joke. btw, what does the GOP have to do with the tea party movement? The ruling class (Dem and Rep) hates tea. As do independents who aren't independent. Real independents love tea.

The rule for Obamacare is:

1. Don't get sick unless you're a veteran, then we'll take care of you, government style.

Jim. Sounds like your have the kind of health 'care' we are experiencing in the UK. You can almost hear the politicians complaining that the peasants are living far to long and costing the Health Service far to much.
Perhaps they will rush a bill through parliament on euthanasia to get rid of some of the oldies.

As for the papal antichrist following Lenin? Well the simple fact is that Communism in religion is Arminianism which the Roman Catholics invented and far too many protestant pew fillers follow its unwarranted path.

Mike, The truth is . . the Catholic “church” collaborated with the Nazis and that's how they got the loot they stole from the Jews!

A MUST READ: Hitler's Pope (Abridged) by John Cornwell / Source: The Emperor's Clothes / Link: http://www.emperors-clothes.com/analysis/hitlerspope.htm
From the Author:
“Raised as a Catholic during the papacy of Pius XII . . .I decided to write a new defense of his reputation for a younger generation. I believed that Pacelli's evident holiness was proof of his good faith. How could such a saintly pope have betrayed the Jews? The evidence was explosive. It showed for the first time that Pacelli was patently, and by the proof of his own words, anti-Jewish. It revealed that he had helped Hitler to power and at the same time undermined potential Catholic resistance in Germany. It showed that he had implicitly denied and trivialized the Holocaust, despite having reliable knowledge of its true extent.”

True, JuneAnnette, this is an excellent article, Is the Vatican an Evil Organization?--great until the last paragraph, apparently an ex-Catholic who had the good sense to get out of the Romish Church, but apparently, at least as yet, not called by God to his saving grace.

The pope is a big proponent of "redistribution of wealth". If he's really serious, he should get the ball rolling by selling off the Vatican's precious but ill-gotten collection of art treasures and their vast real estate holdings across the globe.
