Miriam Ibrahim, Imprisoned Christian Mother, Freed in Sudan
A Sudanese appeal court freed Meriam Yehia Ibrahim and canceled the death sentence she received after refusing to recant her Christian faith, her lawyer said.
Ibrahim, 27, was released from jail today and is now with her husband, Daniel Wani, one of her lawyers, Elshareef Ali, said by phone from the capital, Khartoum.
Ibrahim was sentenced to death by hanging by a Sudanese court last month in a case that sparked condemnation from governments including the U.S. and U.K. as well as rights groups such as Amnesty International. Sudan’s government said it wouldn’t interfere in the decisions of the judiciary....
"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." (Heb 13:3). I doubt she is out of danger; these terrorist groups are relentless in their pursuit (Isis anyone?). Her family will most assuredly need continued prayers! But God has allowed them to be together - what joy!
Our little guy is all but little and never stay's in one spot! And sometimes he's "played with" too much by the two-year old! We're all well & keeping our noses to the path God's leading us on! Busy, busy season of life - as you we'll know!
Anne, it's great to see you posting! All is well with baby. She's rolling like a tumbleweed!!! How is your son? I've pondered what I would do in her position as well. Praying for you and yours dear sister!
SF - praying all is well with you! Lovin' that "semi-new" baby? All's well with her? When I read this sisters story, however long it's been, I thought of what I would do in her place... May God grant us all the strength to serve Him first and foremost at any and all costs! My loves goes out to you and your family!
Christopher, this busy season in my life has had me refocus all of my attention on home life, as it should be, but I wanted to let ya know we keep you and many others here in our prayers!
Sudan is so busy killing Christians in mass in other parts of the country and in hot water with other nations that tossing out this fillip was a good idea, of course good ideas rarely attract the attention of Islamic countries---the Inadequacy of Islam.
Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus! This just overwhelms me... the prayers of many have been answered... this sister in Christ is just as close to me in my heart as any blood sister would be... I pray that the Lord will keep her safe and protect her from her other family members... all glory to God...!
