No straight people allowed?
The developer proposing the idea has created an online survey to gauge interest from a sector of society often courted for its disposable income.

Amsterdam has a retirement home for the LGBT community and similar projects are underway in France, Spain and Sweden. The United States is already home to several communities aimed at attracting the pink pound.

While potential profits are one incentive, helping battle institutional discrimination is a factor. When the nursing home Gay Care Amsterdam opened earlier this year, its founder said he wanted to ensure elderly people did not feel they had to hide away photographs of same-sex partners. ...

(1) God foreordains the elect eg Eph 1:4,5 [from the foundation of the world] - Thus where do you think the non-elect are going?
(2) 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51.
BTW Sin came from Adam and Eve all the way down to you and me. We do not sin to become sinners - we are born in the sin condition. Zero mortals are born sinless.

Steve, just trying to understand your reasoning...how do you reconcile this? Yes, Roman Catholics believe in Christ, but is it really enough? Do they love, trust, and obey Him, or is He just a puppet to the real power? Do they pray to Him alone, put their trust in Him alone, worship Him alone, give credit to Him alone, look to Him alone for all things, or believe He alone can save them? The answers to all is an obvious "no". Please explain in detail, for a change, exactly why you believe Roman Catholics are Saints and why all that goes on within the church along with everything they do and believe in contradiction to God's own Word just doesn't matter. Can I claim to believe in and worship the God of the Bible, and pray to his mother, dead saints, and dead popes at the same time, for example?

Nothing in the verses about foreordaining to everlasting death.
Remember the "thing formed" has to exist before it can say anything. The vessels have to be vessels before they can be vessels of wrath "fitted to.." There has to be clay before it can be made vessels. Etc.

Thing is Hurnes you disagree with WCF, Calvin, and calvinists. (see 6/21/14 9:56 AM post) and John UK proves again your departure from your beloved document that you exalt above the Word of God and the teachings of the Lord Jesus. You are like the immature Corinthians who said I am of Paul, or I am of Peter or I am of Apollos. God looks to the humble and contrite man who trembles at His Word according to Isaiah and you show none of the above in your posts. The books opened on that great judgment day are not the words of Calvin or the Synod of Dort but the Lord says it is His Word that shall judge them. You are weighed in the balances and found wanting Turn from you idolatrous worship of the calvinist flower and the WCF to the fountain filled with blood that will cleanse you from your sin and give you a place in the kingdom of God's dear Son.

Here is the attitude of a true calvinist.

Around this time, Whitfield was asked this question, “Do you expect to see John Wesley in Heaven?”

“No,” was his reply.

But then Whitfield continued, “John Wesley will be so close to the Throne of Glory, and I will be so far away, I will hardly get a glimpse of him.”

Matthew 24:5-14 KJV
(5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
(6) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
(7) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
(8) All these are the beginning of sorrows.
(9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
(10) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
(11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
(12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

I often think of this v12 which says that "because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold".

I can see this on the board.

I can also see the a-mil beliefs.

By the way, what I'm agreeing with is the comment about having loved ones ourselves and the inferred thought of detachment when we have no personal relationships with certain headlined groups or persons. God come, and God judge, but my prayers are always for as much time as possible and I thank Him for His patience with mankind every single day as I'm thanking Him for allowing us an extra day.

Many of us still have loved ones who are unsaved...to desire the destruction of the ungodly by some who profess the name of Christ and then to post it for the whole world to see on a Christian Forum....really?

I agree and always try to keep in mind that "they" are all someones son, daughter, mother, father, or otherwise. I am the only one out of a large family who is saved, save for an Aunt. One of my brothers claims to be but I seriously question it. The sadness I feel for my family is what I try to keep in mind for anyone who is lost. For such a proud entity, Satan sure has made sure to remain in the shadows as he worked his very subtle, diabolic, patient will upon mankind over the centuries.

Mike, I would say that tripe is a dish best not served...period. Who thinks to eat this stuff? Hey, let's cut off one of the pigs feet, pickle it, and see what it tastes like! Oh look! A dead cow! Let's see what its intestines taste like. To each his own, I guess.

Why MS
Is that all you have to say about such an important issue???
Thats the same kind of basis of their confession which the church which Jesus rebukes at Matthew 7:21-23 uses.
Also the RCC, JW's and other Arminians use that same little mantra.

Surely you have more basis for your religious convictions and beliefs than that. After all the Bible has a little bit more to say than that!!

Now that you have come down to dismiss the theology of other people in promotion of your own great wealth of knowledge, perhaps you should reveal a little bit more to prove your great genius over us poor mortals.

Yes, instead of continually "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith", we are being distracted by the works of men, well-known preachers, commentaries, links to websites, and a thousand and one other distractions, such that the Lord Jesus is hardly known today, and very few seek him, let alone desire him.

We need to get back to:

Now the WCF is based upon the Bible, do you then imply the Bible is tripe?
The Reformed church, Calvinists, Puritans, and many other protestant groups for example the 16/17th century Covenanters fought for and died for the WCF doctrines.

In your theological expertise which you will confirm is guided by the Holy Spirit, do you condemn all these people - These "Tripe" followers, as you describe them, are all now in hell because of what you know compared to their ignorance?

The Calvinist connects the WCF with the Bible by his theological perception through his doctrine, which he also believes comes from the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore how do you think we should judge those who cannot identify the Bible doctrine in the WCF?

Is it the difference between Calvinism and salvation by works? Or the difference between the elect and reprobate? Or both?

Maybe Hurnes has only just started his catechism, and has not yet reached WCF 14/2...

"But the principal acts of saving faith are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace."

Now MS, I've no doubt there will be differences of opinion on secondary issues, but my brethren and sisters are those like yourself who are saved by the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ in his life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection, this by grace alone through faith alone, apart from works, which are the fruit not the root of salvation.

The Apostle's Creed is a good summation of fundamental Christian doctrine, and it unites every true believer in the "body of Christ" without schisms and divisions.

But if Hurnes insists on his WCF, he should know that it states clearly that a sinner must exercise faith in Christ, accepting and receiving him as his Saviour, and resting upon him alone for his justification, sanctification and eternal life. If a Calvinist wants to promote the WCF, he ought to believe it.

Nope don't find tulip in the scriptures.
I have never come across a non-Calvinist who doesn't end up demonstrating some form of works based religion, similar to the Roman Catholic ideology.
Cults such as the JW's and Liberals are heavily into the various means of man effected salvation by works.
Invariably we perceive some form of deficiency in their image of God, which inevitably requires them to replace such by some form of human intervention and effort. Thus the sinner is promoted and God is demoted in their theology.

Therefore can I advise you MS that salvation by works is neither Biblical nor does it actually work.

Calvinism and TULIP are found in the Bible by the discerning Christians. Strong historic Christians such as the Reformed Church, Puritans and Covenanters all followed this teaching and great names such as Whitefield and Spurgeon and Edwards and many others taught its Biblical doctrines.

May the Lord bring you to the whole counsel of God.
