‘There Is No God’ In Washington

A nephew of “Duck Dynasty’s” Phil Robertson says he is running for the Louisiana congressional seat held by Vance McAllister, who was elected with the TV family’s support and later was wrapped up in scandal when video surfaced showing him kissing a married staffer.

Zach Dasher, a 36-year-old Republican who has never run for office, said in a statement Monday announcing his candidacy for the Nov. 4 election that he opposed the federal health overhaul and abortion and supports a constitutional amendment requiring that Congress balance the budget.

“I got to looking around at the problems in politics today, and what I see in Washington, D.C., is no God. There is no God. The elite political class thinks they can be running our lives,” he said in an interview with The Associated Press. ...

Thanks for the info, Jim. Just remember the inadequacy of moralism.

ps only Democrats and their supporters say Republicans claim to be the party of God. Maybe it helps them deal with the fact that God has no place in their own world, as they made clear at the Democratic National Convention.

Christopher, all good points you make.

Especially, "Don't eat sensibly, lest you find yourself fighting against God."

And they actually believe that!

Job 21:7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?

8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.

9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.

11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.

13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.

14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

I wonder if he is a member of the same denomination as Phil Robertson: " the saved today lost tomorrow" church of christ.

Republicans CLAIM to support smaller govt and more individual freedom. Their actions do not align well with their words. Anymore, there is very little difference between the parties. The main difference lies in the fact that one party is completely open and honest about what they want to do to us. Fortunately, Jesus offers citizenship in a single-party kingdom

The Republican Party stands for less government bureaucracy and more freedom for the individual.

The Democrats believe in Big government making all the decisions for all the people and telling them what to think and say and do.

So what do independents believe?
Is it somewhere between the two?
EG:: Medium government which makes half the decisions for the people whilst allowing them the 'freedom' to make half the decisions about their lives?
Obligation to direct the correct decision of course remaining in the hands of the government?

You've reminded us so often that Jesus is no Republican, but I don't recall you saying he's no Democrat. Another example of "independent" political thinking?

If Zach Dasher gets his foot in the door,it sounds like Washington will remain status quo then. Why is this a news item? Any one who would include their ungodly relatives/stands in the equation is just following suit of what is already there. I would say that if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it probably is a duck but I wouldn't want to malign the animal which has the corresponding label.

Hi Bear, I appreciate your post and on a personal level, it unfortunately describes me and it's something I struggle with for certain reasons. Praying before bedtime and going to church for 45min a week and leaving it at that is far from enough.
What I can't say I appreciate is how you bombed every thread with the same copy/paste comment. Once, maybe even twice would have given it the same exposure.

Hello,

This is just another glaring example of our times.

Let this be a WARNING and a CALL to all who truly. Pursue/Follow Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

WARNING: this is a result of a weak and ineffectual church. I/We have spent to much time on our selfs and not enough time with Christ and the Father on our knees. Thus the current downward spiral were in!

CALL: Let's humble ourselves before our God and Savior,
REPENT, REPENT, REPENT every one of us!
Cry out to God for Holy REVIVAL!

Is the life were living, worth Christ dieing for?
