Francis ditches bulletproof Popemobile

Pope Francis has told a Spanish newspaper that he prefers not to use a bulletproof Popemobile despite the dangers of an assassination attempt because it is a glass "sardine can" that walls him off from people.

"It's true that anything could happen, but let's face it, at my age I don't have much to lose," he told Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia in an interview published Friday and reported on in English by Vatican Radio.

"I know that something could happen to me, but it's in the hands of God." ...

I'm surprised that SA didn't keep this important story more visible I believe there was a thread about this world reknowned vehicle was now a hybrid.

I also thought there was a thread on His Unholiness' Harleys? I ran across an article, Pope's Harley-Davidson sold at auction for more than £200,000, that he sold at least one in Febr. Pity-- he's a natural for a Hell's Angel member.

Mike of N.Y., I keep attacking "Protestant totalitarianism] because The Christian Right Movement is a disaster for the mission of Christians! ' "The Reconstructionist movement and its allies and offshoots, by substituting political and cultural action for the proclamation of the Gospel, by substituting eschatology for soteriology, and by mangling the Gospel itself, have become tools of Romanist political action" (3/02, The Trinity Review).' excerpt from, Notes on Reconstructionism. Conservative Christians are overlooking The Inadequacy of Moralism and of political action. Dominion Theology/Kingdom Now/Reconstructionism is an anti-Biblical curse.

I think it's obvious that the way the last couple Popes keep worshiping Mary, they have the hots for her and hope to make her after they die. Being in hell they'll never get the chance! Exposing the Idolatry of Mary Worship...

Sure am confused, Jim. Can't for the life of me make the connection between the above, and how the Pope not using the Popemoble is an example of RCism not being a Christian Religion. Oh well.

One of the bad things the RC and the Islamic systems have in common is that they are centralized, orders from the superiors organizations. Funny you promote more and more of the same thing for the US. Think it'll work better in politics than it does in religion?

So then if not using the Popemoble is another example of Roman Catholicism not being a Christian Religion, then it must be that if he uses the Popemoble, the RC's must be Christian? Never thought of it that way.

Hello,

This is just another glaring example of our times.

Let this be a WARNING and a CALL to all who truly. Pursue/Follow Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

WARNING: this is a result of a weak and ineffectual church. I/We have spent to much time on our selfs and not enough time with Christ and the Father on our knees. Thus the current downward spiral were in!

CALL: Let's humble ourselves before our God and Savior,
REPENT, REPENT, REPENT every one of us!
Cry out to God for Holy REVIVAL!

Is the life were living, worth Christ dieing for?

The pope says "at his age , what does he have to lose?" There is some truth in that. A lost person has nothing to lose, in a manner of speaking. We can hope that this fellow would ditch his religion, come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and accept the free gift that God offers through His Son. Then, not only would he be considered not such a bad guy, he would be seen as a righteous man through Jesus by God.

Ah, Chris, you mean, ..., Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses besides.
Ex-Catholic Journal wrote:
... the interpretations and applications of these realities are diametrically opposed to true Christianity. Catholicism’s truth claims are superseded by layer upon layer of error. Rome claims that the Bible is the revelation of God, but contradicts the Word by adding a second source of divine revelation, Sacred Tradition. She usurps Christ’s authority with her popes, priests and wafers. Rome claims to control the Holy Spirit, calling Him down during baptisms and confirmations. The reality is that Catholicism holds sacred truths only to further her idolatrous lies.

Perhaps this Pope wants to die a martyr to his false religion? Jesus Christ, Our One & Only High Priest and Requirements of Every High Priest

By the way, I'm not limiting it to the church of Rome, but any and all, groups, individuals, whoever, and whatever.

Well, he is right about his fate being in Gods hands. Something I think about often is how so many can believe so many different things when it comes to God. We , as Christians anyway, all have the same book but add to, take away from, or contort very simple, concise doctrines, etc. Take the Roman church, for example. They grossly comprimise and disregard the Word they claim to hold so dearly. The church is littered with false doctrine, anti-biblical traditions, and pagan rituals, all of which are in direct conflict with God's Word. Now, I can see being taught wrongly as a child and growing up believing this or that, but as adults equipped with God's Word, I don't get how so many continue to hold onto what they were taught when they have God's instructions right in their hands. Especially "men of God" who have more knowledge than most. I don't understand how false doctrine can remain to stand in the mind of any rational, knowledgeable adult, especially Christian adult, when every one of us has God's instruction book, no matter what we may have been taught as children.
