Perry‚Äôs comments to the Commonwealth Club of California came after Texas‚Äô Republican Convention on Saturday sanctioned platform language allowing Texans to seek voluntary counseling to ‚Äúcure‚ÄĚ being gay.

Perry, a former and potential future GOP presidential candidate, was then asked whether he believed that homosexuality was a disorder.
R Perry: ‚ÄúI may have the genetic coding that I‚Äôm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way,‚ÄĚ he said."
