In 2013 a rash of negative stories with sensational titles, such as ‚ÄúEvangelicals and the Fake Orphan Racket‚ÄĚ and ‚ÄúOrphan Fever: The Evangelical Movement‚Äôs Adoption Obsession,‚ÄĚ have made their way into print, and Kathryn Joyce‚Äôs The Child Catchers has spawned articles about child trafficking and corruption. The attacks are propelling questions: What‚Äôs in the best interest of children? How important is cultural continuity? Should children have a right to a stable family, even if the family is in a different country? Do children belong to the state?

If there was more support for such organizations as Birthright International--Philosophy there should more than enough children to adopt in this country. While foreign adoptions by entertainment industry's well-knowns, are fairly well-known to me, adopting children from outside the country by conservative Christians should be a second choice.
