Duck Dynasty: 'You cannot be right for America if you are not right with God'
Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson kicked off the Republican Leadership Conference at the Hilton Riverside Hotel in New Orleans on Thursday with an entertaining speech in which he mixed his faith in Jesus Christ with an admonition to the GOP to return to the Bible and the fundamental principles of freedom upon which the nation was founded.
âYou lose your religion, you lose your morality, you lose your freedom,â Robertson said. âYou cannot be right for America if you are not right with God.â
In an event the GOP billed as an âunofficial kickoffâ of the 2016 presidential campaign, Robertson drew repeated applause and more than one standing ovation by insisting, âIf the country does not turn to God at a fairly rapid clip, we are going to lose the United States of America.â...

Neil In a way you are very much right
But it doesn't have to be this way, Christians can pray, and I mean really seriously, full of confession of sin and weeping over it praying, the turning from our own wicked way praying. The Seeking first the kingdom of God praying children of God have been starving to be part of in our own churches for a long, long time.
Let me stress, in my own testimony, there were people, my own brother included, who had their own notions of what Christianity was supposed to be about. And IMHO He answered not to give them what they wanted to see but with genuinely saving me. For my brother that would have been a good ecumenical Roman Catholic, not the born again Baptist who renounced his infant sprinkling and followed the Lord in Believer's Baptism one I am by the grace of God.
Let's do pray, Yes! Even if Phil Robertson is telling the Republicans they need to be godly (they do) because when God really answers He is more than able to bring about His will and not the will of political men.
Thank you very much I'll get off my soap box and go have lunch.
It is going to take courage to stand firm , present the message and walk away when wisdom requires us to know when to walk away. Our love affair with this world has got to end and the business of the kingdom and his bride has to take priority. Denigrating a member of the coc serves no purpose. Phil's presenting the message, are we?

Mike Let me encourage you to think deeper. First Baptismal Regeneration is wrong, a heresy somewhat of a cousing to baby sprinklers
Are we clear on that?
Nevertheless if one in a heretical sect, who humanly speaking are 'nice people' that we ought to treat respectfully and encourage in the Truth, if a fallible man like Phil Robertson, can take notice things are very wrong in the U.S.
Repeating what I posted earlier: IMHO we ought to take this as an ecouragement to pray and do some serious soul searching of our own in our seeking of God.
AND adding to that, even if the pastors in our modern day churches fail misserably to call our congregations to much needed repentance of our own sins and prayer, Yes! Even prayer for our nation, as I don't think it take a rocket scientist of a theologian to see judgment is coming and it won't be pretty and churches forget it begins with the house of God.
