She said her man wasn’t having sex with another woman, but was sharing his deepest feelings with her.

Experts say it is the latest frontier in betrayal. So-called ‘emotional sex’ occurs when chatting becomes cheating, either online or through text messaging. ...

I would say that we came full circle with the advancement of technology. We are probably more isolated and apart from one another than we ever were. Here's the common scenario: Relatives get together for a special dinner or celebration and what do we see? Everyone sending texts or playing on their cell phones or smart phones. People are closer to their cyber associates than they are with the ones they ought to be. One has to wonder...even though technology per se isn't evil, how many marriages would have had a better chance of survival if not for the at-the-tip-of ones' fingers access to the internet whores and the faithless facebook lot?

"A disturbing trend that is being blamed"

Well sure,it's all the fault of technology isn't it,first we say technology is responsible for isolating us and keeping us apart, now its to blame for bringing the wrong people together for the wrong reasons....it's sin,no more no less....enough with the blame already.
