Parents: Common Core "Satan's Handiwork"
An Iowa woman jokingly calls it "Satan's handiwork." A California mom says she's broken down in tears. A Pennsylvania parent says it "makes my blood boil."

What could be so horrible? Grade-school math.

As schools around the U.S. implement national Common Core learning standards, parents trying to help their kids with math homework say that adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing has become as complicated as calculus.

They're stumped by unfamiliar terms like "rectangular array" and "area model." They wrestle with division that requires the use of squares, slashes and dots. They rage over impenetrable word problems. ...

So you think we should be take the word of the propagandist who put out the curriculum (they couldn't even get the educators they had to sign off on it) over the folks in the field who are actually having to deal with it. No wonder you think Obamacare is a good idea.

Ah, lady and gentlemen, I think this URL will clean up the first one I had, An Open Letter from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation on Common Core A quotation from that, "...Across the board, we are setting expectations for students that are more in line with what colleges and employers are looking for—such as critical thinking and problem-solving. At the same time, we are ensuring that each state remains firmly in control over the content of its own curriculum." Oh, and for the YouTube videos, U.S. Chamber of Commerce YouTube Videos Supporting Common Core.

I will agree that homeschoolers can take what they want from Common Core, which is most of it and ignore the Romish Church agenda to fund their gastly schools, q.v., Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No. and cripple the Public School system in the process.

So, Mike if you or friends have school age children you can have the best of both worlds--NET: Home School Nebraska

they are deliberately frustrating the most naturally talented mathmeticians. Its beaurocratic tape on steroids put onto an addition sheet for a 6 year old. then they can see what is planned for their futures. better to be inept and let others do the thinking. group think, loss of individual worth or meaning.

Jim, I take you are not a parent. Schooling is about the children the students, not about the teachers.

Jim you need to wake up buddy because your saying some pretty nonsensical things. Common core is evil, teachers unions should be abolished and US schools are subpar at best.

Hmm, foxnews sometimes even reputable, and sometimes I even use it as a source! Also from the article,
AP wrote:
"Part of what we are trying to teach children is to become problem solvers and thinkers," said Diane Briars, president of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. "We want students to understand what they're doing, not just get the right answer."
Gasp! children are suppose to think! No wonder the Tea Party is up in arms, you can't have people able to think!

But as I have said often times before, Homeschoolers will be the biggest beneficiaries of Common Core, because they can adopt/adapt whatever they want out of it, while having he ability to ignore the critics of it. Oh, and as I pointed out fans of public schools may not be fans of CC, . It appears the leadership of the Romish Church support CC, Common Core: A Divisive Issue for Catholic School. It looks like a good article

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Homeschool your children! Have a say in the curriculum you use, and what is taught in your school!

Probverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The first casualty of complexity is truth which is why it is so common today,we here that a particular issue is"complex" when in fact it isn't....it's just sin.

People create complexity to flatter themselves and give them a reason to look down at anyone who can't figure out what their wicked reprobate mind has conceived.....to deceive.

Common Core: Another example of man taking the simple, and making it complicated. No one should think it only happens in theology.
