Pope says baptism for all - even Martians

Pope Francis has declared everyone has the right to be baptised, even aliens should they come knocking on the church's door.

Christians cannot "close the door" to all those who seek baptism even if they are "green men, with a long nose and big ears, like children draw," the pope said at his daily mass on Monday, according to Vatican Radio.

"If tomorrow, for example, an expedition of Martians arrives and some of them come to us ... and if one of them says: 'Me, I want to be baptised!', what would happen?" Francis said in another display of his lively sense of humour. ...

So, that is how interplanetary wars get started. Such unholy nonsense as Popish Baptism is pushed off on Martians I think the Romish church has polluted one planet too many already. but then, like the Pharisees that the Romish magisterium wants to copy, it shouldn't be all that surprising that,

Matthew 23

14  “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter. 15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much of a son of Gehennaas yourselves.

How profound . . must be something about those big hats they wear!

Sounds like the pope gets his theology from watching reruns of Star Trek and Battlestar Gallactica!

But then again . . maybe Pope Francis is an alien after all!

"""Christians cannot "close the door" to all those who seek baptism even if they are "green men, with a long nose and big ears, like children draw," the pope said at his daily mass"""

Well there goes the uniqueness of God's creation??? The pope has decided to endorse those who believe "we are not alone" Perhaps there is a papal leaning towards evolution and certainly to the governments who spend billions sending technology to huge lumps of barren rock floating in outer space. - Whilst millions starve on earth.

On the other hand, question; 'Is Pope Francis an alien?'

Like I really couldn't think of anything when I read this. I really couldn't. It shocks me but then it doesn't......

Were you aware the vatican has one,of,the most powerful observatories? Actually anything worldly they possess the very best but I thought the observatory was pertinent,to the story

Carl,
DNA does play a part in that only human beings (descendants of Adam) can be saved. This what makes the Popes statement so stupid. Of course, race plays no part, which is what I think you were saying.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

I foresee a new TV series "Battle Star Jesuit". Of course, all of it is based on science fiction.

Christopher000 I agree, he is trying to be "inclusive." He knows nothing about salvation and he certainly doesn't know Christ.

For me, I see the issue on what baptism means to the church more serious than his comment. I could be wrong, but I took his comment more as him trying to stress that they just don't discriminate; being available to anyone.
However, I can't quote him without looking it up, but I do remember Pope John II mentioning aliens and how they would be accepted as well as their astronomers using their observatorys to look for such. Been a while so I don't remember the exact words.

Screwloose, Praise God that DNA has nothing to do with salvation; its by faith alone! Is that why some of the precivil war South's Baptists refuse some of my believing black ancestors baptism because they thought they were Martians? Speaking of Martians, doesn't Bugs Bunny's Marvin the Martian look like a Roman centurion. Maybe Cornelius was a Martian; but Peter says, "Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we, can he?" The Ethiopian eunuch tells Philip, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" Philip answers, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And Jesus the Christ says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name..." He also says, "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved." I suppose that if the Lord tarries in His return that it is conceivable that Mars could be colonized; wouldn't it be something to be the first Martian evangelist?!!! But I get what you're saying; looks like Pope Francis need some serious correction in his theology.

Baptist pastors wouldn't baptize a Martian who received Jesus as savior and requests baptism because Martians do not have human DNA. The bible only says Jesus saves humans not Martians.
