N.D. Official Sparks Outrage With Attack on Common Core Expert
t began as a quiet plot by at least one North Dakota education official to personally attack and defame an expert on Common Core, Dr. Duke Pesta, who was set to give public speeches and briefings to lawmakers exposing the dangers of the Obama administration-pushed nationalization of schooling. The plan, however, backfired — big time.

Within days, the scheme against Dr. Pesta had been exposed, along with at least one official involved in it. Now, the resulting scandal is sending shockwaves through North Dakota and making national headlines, as public calls grow for the resignation or firing of state Department of Public Instruction officials behind the half-baked attack.

Using an anonymous Google e-mail address, which critics have suggested was aimed at skirting public-records laws, North Dakota DPI Public Information Officer Dale Wetzel began sending “talking points” about Dr. Pesta to ...

Ah, but Mike of N.Y., apparently the raw URL, that I gave which for people using browsers could still go directly to, you seem to have failed to read. As I pointed out this lady was anti-CC but pro-public schools, so that is why I repeated.

The goofus in Nebraska who was running ads attacking CC (which Nebraska doesn't have) was defeated, too bad more like him weren't defeated. I did my best to counter the Tea Party and other Superpacs of the same ilk, by using the non-Partisan Republican ballot (Too many Nebraskans seem to have forgotten the old saying, "Only believe half of what you see, and nothing of what you read," The saying has to be revised for the t.v. age of "believe the opposite of what you see on t.v." I pointed this out to UPS, Video: Big Sky, Big Money | Watch FRONTLINE Online | PBS Video, have you ever watched it? Well, since that's probably an hour or long show, I'll make it easy for everyone and point out, again, PACs and Super PACs in Elections. Since it was done by a local t.v. station, it's short, anyway.

Penny, may the Lord have mercy on all of us--especially with the GOP h

You already posted this link. Reading it twice won't help the cause for Common Core-uption.

Mike and Penny, read the second article from a person who has a surprising hostility to Common Core, The Wingnut War On Common Core Is A Plot To Destroy Public Schools.

Actually, the wingnuts in this state were somewhat brought back to reality, because the public school system is popular in this state, remember, especially in the past every farmer's wife and daughter probably were a public school teacher. So, the lies that the John Birch Society tries to spread, will get them booted out in this otherwise very red-neck state.

Mike, indeed persecution is coming and some are preparing the way for it, all the while proclaiming that somehow they belong to Christ. I do pray the Spirit of God wakes up those following false spirits, thinking because there is power in them that it is of God.

' The SPLC said today that to the Christian Right as well as Tea Party and anti-government activists claim the state-driven effort is actually "Obamacore," a nefarious, left-wing plot to wrest control of education from local school systems and parents through "government indoctrination camps."'
'"These claims may sound outlandish -- and they are -- but the fact is millions of Americans are absorbing this extremist propaganda, and it's having a very real impact," said Heidi Beirich, director of the SPLC's Intelligence Project.
Wow, Jim, you are quoting the extremist Southern Poverty Law Center. They claim the Family Research Institute, and Jihad Watch are hate groups (along with a thousand or so others) I'm surprised you think the SPLC credible at all, about anything. Whatever in necessary to defend Common Core?

This has an interesting premise that CC is being used as a tool to actually public schools, http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/05/07/the-wingnut-war-on-common-core-is-a-plot-to-destroy-public-schools.html an interesting premise.

The previous quotation was from a blog about, Common Core opposition fueled by far-right propaganda promoted by anti-government extremists, Southern Poverty Law Center says Outfits like "The New American" are John Birch Society mouthpieces, so the SPLC has a very good point, in this instance.

Common core is seriously flawed and all teachers unions should be abolished.
