Evangelicals and Catholics Together Marks 20 Years
When evangelicals and Catholics set aside centuries of mutual suspicion 20 years ago, the idea was fairly simple: Even if we can’t always work together, at least let’s not work against each other.

Now, two decades after the launch of the group Evangelicals and Catholics Together, relations between the two groups appear stronger than ever, forged by shared battles over abortion, same-sex marriage, religious freedom and immigration.A new pope is finding crossover appeal among evangelicals who share Pope Francis’ emphasis on evangelism and his distaste for the fancier trappings and authoritarianism of the papacy.

“The first affirmation of Evangelicals and Catholics Together is that Jesus Christ is Lord, and there’s the source of our hope,” Catholic theologian Matthew Levering of Mundelein Seminary outside Chicago told the recent Q conference of evangelical movers and shakers in Nashville, Tenn. ...

Ah, JuneAnnette, your message before this one, I am sure am tempted and just copy it and put it on another thread, for many Evangelicals who are working as Fifth-Columnists for the Romish by blindingly following the Romish marching orders that are given to the GOP Roman Catholicism. Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones gave an excellent overview of Rome in this article. Southern Baptists especially have always been looking for forming ecumenical unions with anti-Christian groups, e.g., and Irreconcilable Differences: Catholics, Evangelicals, and the New Quest for Unity. The ECT document can be found at the end of his transcription. One Southern Baptist was on the panel that attacked the ECT.

A word in season from Richard Bennett, Biblical Apologist & former RC priest of 22 years

"While much modern Biblical
teaching assumes a future political leader to be the coming Antichrist, the Biblical Antichrist is first
apostate, and then political only from his apostate seat of power. This perfectly describes every
Roman Catholic Pope in his Pontifical office.”

*********
A word in season from Charles Spurgeon to those who have formed an unholy alliance with antichrist.

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" - Amos 3:3

"“The Protestantism of England is the pay-master of the Pope. I am ashamed that sons of the Reformers… should bow themselves before the beast, and give so much as a single farthing to the shrine of the devil’s firstborn son. Take heed to yourselves, ye Protestants, lest ye be partakers of her plagues; touch her not, lest ye be defiled. Give a drachm to her, or a grain of incense to her censors, ye shall be partakers of her adulteries and partakers of her plagues. Every time you pass the house of Popery let a curse light upon her head: Thus saith the Lord:—‘Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities”

No there are no Christian doctrines in the JW, Mormon and Christian Science organizations. I ought to know because I researched the doctrines of the JW, Mormon and Christian Science organizations and I found that there are no Christian doctrines in those organizations. It really is stupid for anybody claiming to be a Christian to state that there are Christian doctrines in the JW, Mormon and Christian Science organizations when there are not.

I Was brought up a RC and Was one for thirty two years ,and i can assure you the organisation that calls itself the RC Churchill is not christian, and the Jesus RC worship is not the Jesus of the bible ! if the RC were to read the bible for themselves they would see that Rome is not teaching them the truth ,saying that a lot of RC are very nice kind people much kinder than prodistants .anyway most of what calls itself Christianity today is NOT ...read the bible and look to Jesus for guidance ,HE IS THE WAY

What if they dont embrace the unscriptural doctrines of these cults, and only take part of the scriptural facets?
Sound familiar?
That is totally ridiculous as there are no scriptural doctrines whatsoever in the JW, Mormon, Christian Science or any other religious organization that doesn't claim to worship Jesus as God.

Ok, John, and we will open this up to others who may want to comment. You have repeatedly said you know you have trusted Christ as your Savior. You know, there are some that struggle with doubts, so a discussion on this may benefit them. The Scripture tells us to examine ourselves whether we be in the faith and to make our calling and election sure. Would you be so kind as to tell us that if a person came to you and said I wish I had the assurance you have of your faith in Christ. What would you advise them to do to share in your confidence? What do you see as evidences that point to the fact that a person possesses new life in Christ? Thanks for your response

Hey John, you still haven't answered my question where you clearly stated that being a member of the church of Satan would not lead to entrance into heaven. If that is true then it DOES matter what church you attend. Maybe you could attend Kingdom Hall or an LDS church. If for ANY reason you rule those out, then you are basically saying that it DOES matter what church you attend. Now you can't have the best of both worlds, either it doesn't matter what church you attend or it does, which is it?
If one were to attend the Church of Satan founded by Levay they would not believe that Jesus is God and they would not have embraced Jesus as their Savior. Therefore they would not be eligible for entrance into Heaven upon their demise. It doesn't matter what church one attends for entering Heaven upon ones demise as long as the church worships Jesus as God. The JW organization, the Mormon Church and any other religious organization that doesn't claim to worship Jesus as God should cease being attended by anybody in those organizations who have embraced Jesus as their Savior and who trust in Jesus alone for salvation. They should start attending a church that worships Jesus as God.

The Roman Catholic “church” through her Bishops vigorously denounces both abortion & homosexuality as “intrinsically evil”. YET these same Bishops have done all in their power to cover up that which is equally “intrinsically evil”, namely the “abuse of children. Baltimore’s former archbishop, Cardinal William Keeler, aptly described the sexual abuse of a minor by a trusted minister of God as “soul murder”! The Vatican herself defines these clerical sins as the “worst crime”! Thus their own words testify against them! The so-called "princes of the church" place their unqualified censures upon societal sins & evil while ignoring/overlooking the gross immorality & criminal conduct of their "brothers" within their own cloistered closeted gay community! Lest you forget in the context of the RC CLERGY ABUSE, the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops Nat'l Review Bd. Member Dr.Paul McHugh, former psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins, has said that “This behavior was homosexual predation on American Catholic youth," Yet . . Pope Francis says he won't 'judge' gay priests, rendering protestations by the RC on gay issues altogether untenable. RCs & her false ecumenists vainly imagine the unholy RC “church” has any moral authority.

Not to mention the rapid decline into apostasy by evangelicals. (imo) A Christian might be better off in the RCC than in falling away Protestant Churches not to mention the fleshy attitudes those evangelicals have today could be a stumbling block to Catholics

There simply is no way a true Christian is better off in such a blasphemous church, though to be fair, it is not any better to be in an apostate protestant church either.

Bible-believing Christians should know better than to be fooled by Rome's ecumenical facade. The bible warns us that the greatest threat to the truth will not come from hostile atheistic goverments but from false teachers claiming to be Christians.(1 Timothy 4:1-3; 2Timothy 3:1-9; 2Peter 2:1-3).
The roman catholic religion can imitate true Christianity, but only so far. It's false gospel cannot bring forth genuine spiritual life from dead sinners. But many choose to ignore this for the sake of their social concerns and causes!

So here we go, where the rubber meets the road.

What is wrong with christians and catholics getting together is very simple, A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND. What is unreal to me is those that claim to be reformed and are sympothic to this; rome has duped you with it's ecumenical heresy. Did you seriously forget the horrific persecution of the romish church to keep the gospel hidden and when she was discovered she came up with the ecumenical garbage to pull the wool over peoples eyes?

More importantly is Christ is establishing a kingdom to be filled with saints, that is the pinnacle purpose for existance. Anything else is way on down the list and when this alliance was they put, these secondary issues first. Why? Because one party does not honor Christ as Lord, it is impossible at that point to make His redemptive plan the number one issue which is why this wicked alliance should never have happened

I researched the concordat(?) signed by the ecumenical council of churches involved and some of the statements and agreements signed and agreed to between Evandelicals and Roman Catholics were very comprimising, to say the least. The Roman church stopped short of stating that Mary is a necessary instrument in the salvation "process" because, admittedly, they said that it would interfere with ecumenical goals. Anyway, one of the items of agreement that really stood out is that evangelicals are forbidden from proselytizing Roman Catholics. The most amazing thing ever happened that day; the day of the signing...1,000,000,000 Roman Catholics became born again Christians...all by a simple stroke of a pen.
I'm sure that last sentence will cause some backlash but that's basically the extent of it.
