Dad handcuffed for protesting graphic-sex book

A parent who complained about a book assigned to his daughter at Gilford High School in Gilford, New Hampshire, was arrested and taken away in handcuffs from a school board meeting for refusing to “be quiet” when repeatedly admonished by a board member.

William Baer, whose ninth-grade daughter last week was assigned the book “Nineteen Minutes,” came to the meeting to protest the book’s assignment and the district’s failure to notify parents the book contained graphic descriptions of “rough sex” between teens.

According to a report in the Laconia Daily Sun, Baer challenged the board to actually read aloud that portion of “Nineteen Minutes” during the meeting, but school officials refused.

He continued, “The book goes on-on-on after the sex scene, talking about the girl getting pregnant and wanting to have an abortion,” he explained. “So, I went to the school board meeting to complain that the ...

"Why do the public schools want to force parents to accept controversial materials against the parents wishes?"

Is your mind really that clueless?
When will you actually get the clue that these people are driven by the froth of Satan and there is no such thing as "WHY" in the question at all, they ARE this way and they will remain this way unto death, they are vermin upon the earth and that is all, and you get what you deserve if you hand over your children to vermin.

"the school board’s official statement. Read carefully:
'The School District policies IGE, IJ, IJA, KEC (available on the school district website) refer to the procedures for the use of novels containing controversial material. The district will take immediate action to revise these policies to include notification that requires parents to accept controversial materials rather than to opt out. Furthermore, the notification will detail more specifically the controversial material.'"
Catch that? "requires parents to accept controversial materials..." At what point does the prey realize it has been caught and is being devoured?
Why do the public schools want to force parents to accept controversial materials against the parents wishes? That is pure and simple Communism.

the school is there to enforce now, a nation of enforcers and unemployed. this action was done for safety. the great order must be protected from the family, the father, the artisan, the Christian, the prolifer. the training has come down with hs funding in many cases, this is it folks. conservatives had a huge part in getting us to this point, because foundations built under previous admin for "safety" replaced indvl rhgts and just war.... and when they started patting down women and children in the airport, locking up breastfeeding women in glass cages in the airports for carrying milk, when this began, we were silent. now the databasing has begun and most everyone trained in this new system that is not service but enforcement. its here folks.

my greatest concern now is those who will give allegiance and find at judgment they never knew Christ.

Anne, of course you are right!

penny, you've said it before and now we see, so very quickly, the fruit of this rotten tree producing exactly what we all expected!

Moreover, WHY do parents send their kids to places where the parent obviously has zero control over what their kids see/read/do?! The parent cows to the school board eventually as if they "just have no other choice". Indoctrination from a government entity - call it what it is.

"Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him and be firm in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world." (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Muirtel writes: "Now that they have removed Bible teaching from schools Satan has moved in."

Muirtel, you can also take it back one more layer. When parents neglect to tell their children God's truths, then Satan moves in.

this is part of common core. was listening to a gentleman the other night who was involved in education... the gist I got from it is that sexuality is the foundation like Christ is the foundation for us. therefore it is put into all the subject areas. there was one book about a girl who falls in love with her pedophile abuser, they are reading in like junior high in lit, something to that effect. they have sexuality goals for every grade level.

when they are demoralized, they will be dependent and look to the state for answers, broken away from family. they are also broken away from their heritage. example, in lit they read Gettysburg address but teacher is not allowed to give the background/context/history in the lesson so its just an arbitrary set of words, not even sure they are told the author (Pres Lincoln). the math is designed to frustrate the capable and waste a lot of time. parents are no longer capable in helping their children. he gave example in California where one district is implementing with online classes. so parents were teaching their kids at home, and then letting them move on to higher levels. the website response was explicit, they were forbidden to access anything other than their grade level.

this is it folks.

That's where I was going to go, KJG...government controlled anything is bad these days. They have taken over everything, including a parents own children who can basically be taken away on a whim. Honestly, I view the US form of governing as a dictatorship since Mr OBama got in (twice) and began his plan for the genocide of the American financial system and parental rights. All of my neices and nephews are products of the public school system and nothing good is coming of it.

When I get married and have children they will be homeschooled on the farm when we are not on the road touring or on the tour bus. What gave that school board the right to arrest that man for protesting that book?
