Is Christian growth keeping pace with Islam?

Christian growth has stagnated globally while Islam's numbers have almost doubled, according to one researcher.

In a report by Dick Slikker, of the Christian mission consultancy group Project Care, information from the World Christian Database reveals that Christians made up 34.5 per cent of the world's population in 1900, while in 2010 they were 32.9 per cent.

This is contrasted with Islam's growth over the same period, at 12.3 per cent of the population in 1900, rising to 22.5 per cent by 2010. The data shows that the number of Muslims exceeded the number of Roman Catholics in the early 1980s. ...

In these times of apostasy even in the churches we find unsaved non elect pew fillers such as the Arminian style self savers.
And even some who because they were baptized when babies, think they are elect.

This reminds me of a book I saw at a thrift store. It was titled Faith Club and the agenda was for christians, muslims, and jews to "come together as one." :/

Thank you Christopher. It's just a poor signal on my mobile broadband. Got a temp sub on Wi-Fi to get me going, at about 800kb/sec. Wow that seems so quick!

If the question is ask in regard to influence and power in America it has already been answered.

The very definition of "Christian" has been corrupted to the point of uselessness....that definition ranges from Ned Flanders of the Simpsons to the late Fred Phelps of Westboro fame.

Chris, the appeal of Islam is basically the same as any other works-based religion, e.g., that of Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses, it makes sinful man in charge of his salvation instead of God. Such religions will always have a greater appeal than Christianity, because they are selfish religions. David Wood has an interesting YouTube on, David Wood Explains why Islam is based on Lies.

Christianity was and is ordained by God to be the "Remnant".

The numbers game is irrelevant to God's plan and purpose.

In these times of apostasy even in the churches we find unsaved non elect pew fillers such as the Arminian style self savers.

The Christian's eyes and heart are towards heaven. Come Lord Jesus come soon.

Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Oh, and I meant to ask the question: What exactly is the attraction of Islam, for anyone who might have an idea? The edginess? Rebellion against the West? Sympathy for the Muslim plight?

Born Moslem, born Anglican, born Catholic, born Presbyterian, born Methodist, it's got nothing to do with being born again, without which no man shall see or enter the kingdom of God.

True Christianity has always been the minority.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
