McDonald's snubs family, sales drop
McDonald's could energize declining sales by returning its ad focus to family friendly television and abandoning broadcasts with sex, violence and foul language, the Parents Television Council has told the fast food chain.

UPS, oh, I'm usually in a McDonald's once a week, and it seems to have enough families coming into it. I use to eat at McDonalds, many years ago, when I was going to school, and some right-wing nut tried to start a conversation with me! It shows that California started trends years before the rest of the country? Now, I don't think that stopped me from going to McDonald's they usually have more families than crazies.
According to Forbes, McDonald's First Quarter Profit Falls As U.S. Same-Store Sales Decline, was in great part due to the polar vortex we had this winter. Apparently nearly 200 other companies blamed some of their sales problem, on that cold wave also, and not where they were putting their advertising.
My son, gasp, worked at a McDonald's as a shift manager. I usually get tea from there on the way home, but don't tell jpw. I really think the Parent Television Council was trying to make a point where there was not one.

Probably the shows that were mentioned in the article are ones that families don't watch, so I'm not quite sure how that would effect McDonald's sales. However, it probably wouldn't hurt their bottom line if they stop putting advertisements on such shows, since something doesn't seem to be working. Trying to find family friendly shows on network t.v. anymore is a real challenge.
More than likely pretty much a stretch to say it has much to do with advertising on "The Family Guy".

Pretty sure jpw would say that McDonald's was never a family friendly place with its offerings for food.
