Obama sends pro-abortion delegation to Vatican

As the Vatican prepares the canonization ceremonies for Pope John Paul XXIII and Pope John Paul II this Sunday, the unspoken issue dividing the Roman Catholic Church and the White House is President Obama’s determination to force faith-based groups to pay for abortions and contraception as part of Obamacare.

Pope Francis, affirming Catholic doctrine, recently characterized abortion as an “unspeakable crime.”

Obama, nevertheless, is sending to the Vatican a three-person delegation with an activist pro-abortion history to represent the U.S. at the canonizations.

At a Planned Parenthood conference in Washington, D.C., one year ago, President Obama ended his remarks with: “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you. God bless America,” despite the group’s status as the No. 1 provider of abortions in the U.S. ...

Michael,
Perhaps the ESV translation is worded better - 'As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him,
knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.'
The original Greek word is aihretikos- Thayer's defines it as 'schismatic, factious, a follower of a false doctrine'- sure sounds like Steve R. to me

Since the 1960s Fr Shenanigans and his Protestant counterpart, the Youth Guy, both have had the same mentality: if it's fun and feels good, just do it. Youth pizza parties, retreats (weekend-long parties), late night parties, lock-in parties, missions trips (week-long parties) and throw cable t.v. with a cornucopia of sexual content (aka pornography) into the mix. All the while moms and dads are totally distracted with their own dual careers, adultery, single motherhood, abortion, divorce, remarriage and the complexity of blended families. If this wasn't a toxic recipe for disaster, whatever could be?

These days every church seems to have its own Fr Shenanigans (Jack Scaap) on staff.

The Obama Administration is simply emblematic of the sensual culture of death.

There's nothing new under the sun.

Steve, I've heard it said over and over that forbidding to marry has turned so many into homosexuals and pedophiles. I would say that it's more of a predisposition and that the priests entered into seminary for the homosexual comrodery and the easy pickings to come once they received their church. Unbiased polls have shown that 1/3 students entering into seminary were homosexuals and that attendence has plummeted since the club was exposed and victims began speaking out. Makes me wonder if these priests entered as sexual deviants, looking forward to the prize, or were they like you and me but thoroughly corrupted, digressing Into pedophiles from righteous, upright, God fearing men simply because they were not allowed to marry? A vow, by the way, which was no surprize to them and a celebacy that would have begun long before seminary if they really had a calling. It's not like they entered into the priesthood and the Pope called to say, surprize! By the way, you can never marry or be with a woman...ha-ha, sucker! Anyway, there are plenty of born again Christians who are not married and practice celebacy, as we all should, but I don't think they become so desperate and depraved that they turn to sodomy or seek out children to molest...or worse. They should consider it a joy

Oops...don't know what happened there. There was more that got cut off, but I'll leave it there. Bottom line is that I just don't believe that 1 Tim 4 wraps everything together as the reason for there being so many sodomite and pedophile priests. I've denied myself fora long time with plenty of women, men, and children around and I just never sank to those types of thoughts.

Ladybug,
The Scripture you post certainly relates to 'parting company with' and having nothing to do with a heretick on a personal level.

But what we have with SteveR is a false prophet, who continues to speak (post) publically (NOT everyone reading these threads is a knowledgable believer). It is like we would be out visting people in our communities, and right out there is our 'friend' running down the Truth we are witnessing of. So let us continually bear witness of the Truth as Jesus did with the Pharisees.

After reading several posts by SteveR, I am shocked to find a person ,who thinks himself a Christian ,to have viciously attacked two ladies who posted nothing but the facts concerning Roman Catholicism .
One of the posters had her character defamed and the other one he came across as being a watchdog over any of the articles that HE didn't agree with that she posted.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Who do you think you are?
You certainly are not a gentleman never mind a Christian!

You are a total liar!

"..England probably hung, drawed and quartered a number equal to many of those campaigns.." Your proof?

The 30 year war has been shown time and again to be a religious and political battle between Rome and the Reformed. Thank God that Baptists are not Protestants or Catholic.

Hate and Half truths are your stock in trade.

Wow! Talk about wrong on so many levels.
Sound? I don't think so, as anyone "sound" ought to know those in the RCC are NOT brothers of genuine born again believers, that the RCC does not need a bit of 'Protestant Reform' but thorough Biblical repentance and the faith once for all delivered to the saints.

That while Abortion might be an evil so obvious even Catholics (well at least some) can see it, so is pedophilia, homosexuality, the so called redistribution of wealth, and please let's not forget for and instant idolatry, priestcraft and the inquisition.

As to Obama's delegates, it kind of reminds me of 'mafia', they might have their differences but when the chips are really down they are 'family' no matter how much they fight among themselves. So I expect a lot of political kissing up to each other between pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-Islam Obama and his, I call him cousin, Francis 1, in the Vatican.

Considering Im a Christian in the sound Reformed Tradition, Im afraid I must agree that my people are hardly immune from hatred & sin. My people have proven that many times over. As for RCC sexual abuse, I would suggest their deliberate choice to ignore Scripture(1 Timothy 4) led to those crimes and will continue to do so until they repent of their policies. Crimes yes, but 'indisputably' the Babylon of Rev 17? No

If you want to say thats what you think might be the case...OK, I'll leave you alone. However, if you start making false prophecies that you are 100% sure...rest assured I'll be here

SteveR: the sexual abuse of children across the globe by Roman Catholic priests and the shameless cover up of their crimes by the so-called hierarchy of “your church” is thoroughly documented here: http://www.bishop-accountability.org/AbuseTracker/
Roman Catholic bishops transferred known abusive priests to other Catholic parishes unbeknownst to the Roman Catholic laity where they could prey on more Roman Catholic children. The so-called “princes of your church” failed to protect Roman Catholic children but opted instead to cover up the reprehensible crimes of their predator priests for the “good of your church”. The Bishops have effectively turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the plight of the victims of this heinous crime and have spurned Christ's command to be our brother's keeper! Knowingly placing children in harm's way constitutes a willful disregard for others and violates what Christ defined as the second greatest commandment, namely to “love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matt. 22;39) Failure to protect the “little ones” in their flock is a refutation of the most fundamental Christian virtues . . love, mercy, compassion and is the very essence of hate. You don't have to look any further than your own faith community for those who espouse hatred!

But as a former Catholic pointed out, SteveR, Is the One True Church Roman Catholic? Another rhetorical question, and The Church of Rome Steps Into Apostasy. So do I hate Romists, Budhists or Jews (who I have a special sympathy for, Mosaic Magazine » Evangelicals and Israel. Of course not -- but I don't mistake any of these groups for being Christian, and present day Romists in Latin America are not friendly to Christians, unless they keep a low profile, and sometimes that doesn't even help, "Rome when in minority is as gentle as a lamb, when in equality is as clever as a fox, and when in the majority is as fierce as a tiger."

Not nearly as many Catholics have SteveR. Is the Vatican an Evil Organization?--now that is rhetorical question SteveR. The Romish complicity in the deaths of World War II can't be overlooked. "Hitler's Pope" Pius XII---Introduction.

It's time that --all-- American Presidents stop sending delegations to the Vatican. Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No..
