Lincoln police arrest man distributing Christian tracts

A man who was distributing religious fliers outside of Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena faces a trespassing charge, which he says he intends to fight.

Larry Ball was jailed after he approached strangers and asked if they wanted a small, green flier titled “How to Know God,” according to the Lincoln Journal Star (http://bit.ly/1ma13de ).

City Attorney Rod Confer said he was unfamiliar with the exact legal situation, but didn’t know of any specific city codes restricting people from handing out religious literature on the arena grounds. ...

Don't be ridiculous, Jim.

It is we that need reconciling with God, not the other way round. It is we who are at enmity with God, not the other way round. It is we who hate God, not the other way round.

I hope Gil doesn't preach, "Well, sinner, God hates you, but will begrudgingly forgive your sins on Christ's account.

Actually God desires not the death of the wicked, but that he turn and live.

Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel (GOOD NEWS) to every creature. He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned.

I rather think that God hath granted the Gentiles repentance unto life. Doesn't sound to me like he hates them.

God in his love and glory had Christ die for our sins, what more can be asked? If it isn't in the Bible you aren't going to get it.

Lot at Gil's last two sermons, both on the topic of the Christian and sin, e.g.,

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
All sin is serious as an act of rebellion against God. Sin never impacts only the sinner but all directly involved and has a ripple effect spreading far beyond what is often realized. Once sin is confessed and repented of it is completely forgiven by God. Sin forgiven does not mean there are not consequences as a result of the act of sin....

You obviously don't have the wisdom of Gil Rugh and therefore you comments are not worthy of this thread.

So Gi has preached a sermon entitled "God hates sin, hates sinners". I wonder how he addresses sinners, when he informs sinners about this? God hates you, but he also loves you? On the one hand hate, on the other love?

If I was still a lost sinner, I would get mighty confused.

Thankfully I heard a message which said that "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." That "Christ died for the ungodly." That "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."

I never knew that Jesus loved me, until the Bible told me so.

Perhaps Jim is a secret Westbro Baptist, and has banners outside his house which read in big, bold type, "God Hates Figs". It's like an evangelistic team attending a sodomite gathering and going up to them and saying, "God hates you, you're damned." Well, they might well be damned, because they are sinners, but as scripture says, "...and such were some of you..."

Am I to trust a God who hates me? Am I to call upon the name of the Lord ..... who hates me?

Something not quite right.

Answer your question, Mike?
Sorry, it doesn't. There is no hate in these verses. Wrath and hate are not synonyms.

Bill, The Christian Right Movement is a disaster for the mission of Christians! ' "The Reconstructionist movement and its allies and offshoots, by substituting political and cultural action for the proclamation of the Gospel, by substituting eschatology for soteriology, and by mangling the Gospel itself, have become tools of Romanist political action" (3/02, The Trinity Review).' excerpt from, Notes on Reconstructionism. Conservative Christians are overlooking The Inadequacy of Moralism and of political action. Dominion Theology/Kingdom Now/Reconstructionism is an anti-Biblical curse.

I might as well not get SA worked up by repeating a URL, I put up on Oklahoma and Common Core thread. You might want to read that over, though it isn't all that short, these YouTubes are short, however, the longest one is the first, Who are the Birchers Today (YouTube 6 Min.), and the other two I believe are probably 3 or 4 minutes long, Wrapped in the Flag (Why did I write the book on the John Birch Society (Part 1 of 3 (short YouTube) and Wrapped in the Flag (Part 3 of 3) (Destroying the safety net) (short YouTube).

As I pointed out the Sam's Club Republicans, q.v., Sam’s Club Republicans Vs. the Tea Party seem to be more in the tradition of normal Republicans, ones who aren't suffering from a severe case of paranoia.

As for the God hates everything thing, you should cease promoting that of which you know not.

Brooks didn't say that. Looks like you're playing evasive games, bringing up the distraction of an alleged Bandwagon this time. But if Americans do think this way, that's nothing to me: I say they're foolish to fall for a con like that. That's not the proper role of the Fed gov't, nor has the Fed gov't shown any evidence of competence in this field.

Since you now say "trogolodyte" instead, that's enough for me to conclude that you have no intention of repenting from your bigoted, juvenile name-calling. Bigots like to believe that whole classes of people have a monopoly on virtue (e.g. Israelis, Communist Democrats) or evil (e.g. Repubs).

Bill liberty from sin, there's nothing about political liberty in the Bible, thankfully we do have political liberty thanks to mainly Deists, Free Masons, also a few atheists and Christians. Christianity survives in other settings than one's that are actually built on self-interest, perhaps thrive in other societies, Potential Pitfalls of Prosperity.

David Brooks in not Republican troglodyte, and yes, Neil, most of Americans expect a healthcare plan out of the Republicans, if they are going to replace the Republican healthcare plan that was in place by Obama.

Now, I put up this link in another thread because it was mainly about another topic --but-- near the end the topic was changed between a political battle between a normal Southern Republican and a Republican troglodyte, i.e. Tea Partyer, Shields and Brooks on Bergdahl criticism, Mississippi primary politics, you can see either the video, listen to the audio, or look over the transcript. The Mississippi stuff is near the end. Anyway, interesting comments. Too bad most Republicans weren't like David Brooks, I might still be one.

Good posts Neil & Strat,
David Brooks is one of those "experts" that PBS likes to have on hand along with Mark Shields to explain everything in an "objective manner", but as anyone with discernment can see their "objectivity" is not without bias. In fact, no one is really without bias. Some are biased in favor of Biblical Truth, Liberty, and the U.S. Constitutional Republic while others are biased in favor of falsehoods, Collectivism, and the Globalist New World Order of Socialism that seeks to enslave everyone under its control, except of course the oligarchy who run it.

This man who was arrested handing out tracts obviously fits into the first category while those who oppose him fit into the latter. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty."

Brooks has a faulty premise, possibly intended as a trick to shift ground: many Repubs oppose Fed healthcare altogether; hence, they are not obliged to offer any alternative at all. And if only they would likewise reject a Fed role in the financial sector; here, I expect no alternative from them either, & repudiate nationalized banking, which is what we effectively have.

You yourself have said before that the Repub Plan is to let people die or similar nonsense, as if inaction equals murder. So which is it, Jim? You can't have it both ways.

It is those who demand that other people pay their financial obligations, or bail them out of fiscal irresponsibility, who are greedy. This is lost on Marxists like yourself.

I suppose I can use the terminology, The Republican troglodyte wing of the party. By the way, just because someone is made in God's image, doesn't mean that God doesn't hate them, God Hates Sin, Hates Sinners, many of these troglodytes are driven by greed, as such they are condemned to hell as much as any homosexual, who they want to look down upon, q.v., The Inadequacy of Moralism.

I still recommend,

David Brooks wrote:
As Bill Kristol pointed out at the National Review event, the G.O.P. fiercely opposed the Dodd-Frank financial regulation law but never offered an alternative. The party opposed Obamacare but never offered a replacement. John Podhoretz of Commentary added that as soon as Republicans start talking about what kind of regulations and programs government should promote, they get accused by colleagues of being Big Government conservatives.
excerpt from, A Second G.O.P.
The article is rational on this point but no thinking person wants in league with the Dixiecans, etc.

A comment often made when an unpopular truth or hypocrisy is being exposed,it gets uncomfortable and people must label it in a way that it can be easily dismissed.

Racism is not a one way street as many guilt ridden white liberals and non white racist would have us believe,it is instead a multilane super highway going and coming in all directions.

You're a bit ethically-challenged here: If they did speak that way, that doesn't justify your using similar language against them. Why not set a good example instead, as Christians are supposed to do?

What arrogance, to accuse a whole class of people you probably don't know of being mentally disadvantaged! If you enjoy any actual mental advantage over them, I sure can't tell from your posts here!
