Criticize ‘gays,’ get sued for ‘crime against humanity’
The defendant, Pastor Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries, says Americans need to be paying very close attention, because the outcome could well set a new precedent – that an international agenda based on anti-biblical standards could trump the U.S. Constitution’s freedom of speech and religion.

SMUG demands Lively be punished for criticizing homosexuality, calling his speech a “crime against humanity” in violation of “international law.” The plaintiffs allege the Alien Tort Statute in the United States allows them to make the charge in a U.S. court.

But Lively’s attorney, Horatio Mihet of Liberty Counsel, says his client’s preaching is protected by the Constitution. ...

"an international agenda based on anti-biblical standards could trump the U.S. Constitution’s freedom of speech and religion."

I think in the unsaved heart of America this issue has already trumped the US Constitution. It is perceived as unfair and discriminatory to the homosexual lobby which is gaining more power daily. Freedom of speech/religion is ok if you have traditional morals in the community, but when religion is seen as taking away the human rights of a people who simply want to life in a different private lifestyle then the Constitution discriminates against Americans.

The problem is that the scope of the Constitution on religion is too wide. The future for the Constitution looks bleak since it is in the hands of the greater majority which is Democrat, socialist and Liberal.

John Yurich USA from USA writes:
What is with homosexuals anyway? Why are they so against freedom of speach and freedom of religion?

Must you always ask the same questions?

John Yurich... That's because homosexuality isn't the issue, the unbeliever hates God and hates his Gospel and homosexuality is just the platform being used in our generation (like in other generations) to silence the Gospel in order to try and quite their guilty concsciences.

The case against Lively claims that by speaking his opinion in opposition to homosexuality, he was conspiring to deprive the plaintiffs of their fundamental rights. Mihet explained that although SMUG would allow people to express an opinion against homosexuality, if expressing that opinion causes anyone else to take any action, a crime might be committed

Very interesting article that exposes the mindset of these legal claims. Whats bothersome is that this "case" will be discussed and open for some time. Scary. SMUG is being represented by a George Soros foundation.
