Atheists’ Easter taunt to Christians: ‘Jesus is a myth’

An atheist group upset at a Concerned Women for America Easter display that includes a Christian cross and various anti-abortion materials has now countered with an addition of their own: A sign that labels Jesus Christ as nothing more than a myth.

The message from the Freedom From Religion Foundation that’s now mounted at the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison reads: “Nobody died for our ‘sins,’ Jesus Christ in a myth.”

The atheist group said it rushed to obtain the necessary permit this week after learning CWA had permission for its Easter display. ...

I just copied all of the references below.

I had no idea there was so much historical evidence concerning the life of Christ. Looking forward to reading up on it.

Thallus in particular will be of interest to you.

As William Lane Craig notes:
"
rather stunning that the earlier reference to Jesus’ crucifixion comes not from one of the Christian Evangelists, but from a pagan Roman historian."

There is a great movie called The Final Inquiry that knits these historical testimonies together including the emperor of Rome and Jewish leaders. A lot like Ben Hur.
These things were not done in a corner!

The fact that this group put "sins" in inverted commas shows that they do not believe in sins, which precludes them from the cure. It's a bit like saying that no-one gets sick, therefore medicine is a myth.
Poor dabs. They will still have to face the LORD at the Judgment Seat of Christ. This will be a big shock to their atheistical philosophy. No banners there, just weeping and wailing before they are hurled into the lake of fire, to join the devil who deceived them.
You have to wonder about athiests. Why do they care so much about something they DON'T believe in? Who in their right mind runs around crying- "There is nothing! There is nothing!"?

The atheist can make the argument that the DIVINITY of Jesus is a myth. It does take faith to believe that Jesus is who He says that He was. However, there isn't much of an argument to be made against the existence of Jesus historically. As has been said, there are too many sources outside of the Bible to confirm His existence therefor He is no myth.

Few ancient historical figures can boast the same amount of material that the compiled details of these documents give substantiating the life death and resurrection of The Lord

Habermas proves that atheists are a myth.
Rather ,they are a figment of their own imagination.
They know the truth and suppress it mightily.

Freedom From Religion? Atheists will never admit it, but atheism is a religion. Not only that, but when it comes right down to it, Satan is their god (2 Corinthians 4:4).

"What is Easter? One of Rome's most valuable pagan observances, in pretense of remembering Christ's resurrection, yet in reality a festival of a Chaldean goddess.
This mustard seed of Romish planting has verily filled the whole earth with its branches".

I wish He would come back soon......i really do.

Just weary and I know my heart is not aligned with His soveriegn plan and perfect timing and I am greatly sorry to Him for this.

Be merciful to me oh God as you were to Habbakuk, and remind me your God like Job so I am quiet.

Eph 4:17 ... as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Psalm 10:3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

That's right, John. Christ, minus the spiritual aspect is recorded by historians as a man who was alive and well.and associated with the Christian community. Josepheus, among others, have written of him. People are funny spouting such nonscense and what kills me is when people form opinions, fight for or against something, etc, and know nothing about the facts or topics they are spouting off about. They know what they have been told or concocted in their own minds and run with it; arguing and fighting tooth and nail over things they're really clueless about but think they're experts.
