Feminists Go Bonkers Over Kirsten Dunst’s One, Simple Comment

The left seems to count on Hollywood stars to toe the ideological line, reacting harshly whenever a celebrity shows any sign of independent thought. Actress Kirsten Dunst was among the latest targets following a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

By embracing a view that was almost universally shared among Americans just a few generations ago, she faced cruel ad hominem attacks from numerous media outlets and feminist leaders.

She said feminine qualities that were once celebrated have “been a little undervalued” in our current society.

“We all have to get our own jobs and make our own money, but staying at home, nurturing, being the mother cooking – it’s a valuable thing my mum created,” she continued. “And sometimes, you need your knight in shining armor.” ...

Amy C.is a blessing, as is Susannah Spurgeon. Let me also recommend Ruth Bryan - http://gracegems.org/Bryan/works_of_ruth_bryan.htm

It is said of Ruth - "Her grand aim was to set forth Christ in His fullness, and to turn the spiritual eye from self and every other object—to Him, as the one way to pardon, peace, and holiness."
This describes Ruth's final hours - "As in life, so also in death's dark valley, she sought to be alone with Jesus. Hers was not a triumphant death-bed. No excessive joy was manifested there, but a quiet waiting for the Lord's best time to call away her ransomed spirit from the body of its humiliation, to see Him "face to face," whom not having seen she loved. His sweet peace was keeping (garrisoning) her heart; and to the very last she enjoyed blessed communings with her Lord.

On the night before her decease she refused the presence of any friend to watch by her, lest it should disturb this holy converse with the King of saints; but she was overheard pleading with Him, just prior to the shining into her soul of the beams of the eternal day."

As a reminder, a woman does not have to be married and a beautiful actress to be a fulfilled woman. Sometimes, God calls a christian woman into the mission fields as He did Amy Carmichal that went to India to minister to Indian children. Even as she was bedridden in pain after an accident, she was still a blessing in her writings. I am blessed every morning by reading her little book of devotionals. This is only one example of an unmarried woman that God used, Corrie ten Boom was another. Both of these and many more were fufilled, Christian women in God's will for their lives.
Amen Delores, I am encourage by your post, as I am in no shape for missions with my health!

A beautiful woman inside and out, telling everyone how to be a bibical woman. Amazing how God can use even an actress, to get His message across on how to be a fufilled woman. Some young girl just might listen to her.

I wish I had the space to tell of an Independant Fundemental King James Baptist Preacher who had an old timey Church of God (Pentecostal) woman, long dress, sleeves, hair all up in a beehive who came to his church. She had no transportantion and aked if it was okay for a Church of God woman to come to his church and could he and his wife give her a ride.

And how she loved him and his wife, had them over for Sunday dinner with all sorts of good Southern food, and in my words lived a life of prayer, continually in the love of God, praying for him, his wife and for the power of God in his ministry. A little old woman people would think of as weird but in my words again was closer to him than 'family'.

And this preacher testified all this in a big independent Baptist Church as an encouragement for how we ought to be as children of God to one another. People of such holiness and prayer that one might be afraid to open their eyes lest they see Jesus Himself standing right there while they are crying out to Him, calling upon His name.

Shane beat me to it, but good post, Mark.

Anyway, I might be wrong, but the way I always looked at Christ's life, as far as what he didn't have, and maybe even being unattractive, no matter what the artists paint, is that maybe He wanted it to be a situation where people had absolutely no reason to look at him or follow him for any other reason than the good news he brought to tell the world. You know, like paying attention to someone with money, power, looks, possessions, the ability to do something for you, etc, who would otherwise not even get the time of day if asked?
Now, I know that Christ was also our example, but I think it's taken to the extreme at times and people actually interfere with God's work by limiting what He may be trying to give, do, etc. because Christ came and left in assumed poverty.

I actually appreciate your post, commenting on how you actually look at and think on life, and don't just leave it there but actually step out and get involved.

Since this thread has to do with a Hollywood actress who dared violate the "sacred political correctness" of the feminazi I have to think we ought to pray that our Father would bring laborers into her life that would tell her the truth of Christ, love her, pray for her, who refuse to let her go into hell forever, unloved, unprayed for and untold of Christ.

I don't know about you but personally I have so much learning and growing to do, and yesterday in one of the churches I visited, the pastor gave a gimpse of his testimony and how he had a praying Grandmother, A PRAYING GRANDMOTHER! and how she and other Grandmothers that she recruited continually cried out for his salvation

Mark M... good post. Especially about Judas comment about the oil being sold for the poor. Truth be told... the poorest people in America are well off in comparison to the rest of the world. Food, lodging, is not far away. People, churches help. The question is... do you want help?
