The Turkish military is actively assisting foreign-backed Sunni Islamic militants who are routing Christian Armenians from the northwestern Syrian town of Kassab, Syrian and Lebanese sources told WND.
The Armenians are being forced to seek refuge in the Syrian city of Latakia.
As a result, many hundreds of thousands of Armenians fled to neighboring Syria and Lebanon to seek refuge and reestablish Armenian communities.
In addition to some 120,000 Armenian Christians, the government of embattled Shiite-Alawite President Bashar al-Assad has been protecting Christian Syriacs, Marionites and Eastern Orthodox believers....
One shouldn't think that the Assad regime is protecting the nominal Christians in Syria out of the goodness of its heart. One reason, is to make Russia in particular happier and in general the Westerners less angry with the regime. They are still The forgotten Christians of the East.
